Abstract: An embedded resonator sharpens the frequency characteristics of a coaxial low pass filter. The resonator introduces finite transmission zeros to the response of the low pass filter, thereby suppressing spurious modes occurring just above the operating frequency. Two parameters are used to tune the operation of the embedded resonator. The length of an insert into the filter's transmission line substantially controls the resonant frequency, and the gap width substantially controls the coupling of the embedded resonator to the low pass filter.

Abstract: The coaxial connector 10 to be connected with a coaxial cable has a surface covering layer 20 formed of a metal material which causes an eutectic reaction with In on the surface of a terminal 12 which is a core conductor. Because of the surface covering layer 20 of a metal material which causes the eutectic reaction with In formed on the surface of the terminal of the coaxial connector, the terminal of the coaxial connector and the electrode of a superconductor device can be jointed to each other by the solder layer of In-based solder at a relatively low temperature. Thus, the discharge of oxygen from the inside of the superconductor film of a superconductor filter can be suppressed, and the decrease of the critical temperature TC can be suppressed.

Abstract: A stable and reliable built-in cross-coupled dielectric filter with temperature-independent performances and improved rectangular degree and amplitude-frequency characteristic is disclosed. The built-in cross-coupled dielectric filter comprises at least three sequentially welded coaxial dielectric resonators. Mutually coupled capacitors or mutually coupled inductors are etched on the two adjacent lateral surfaces of the adjacent coaxial dielectric resonators, respectively, with an alternate setup. The input and output ports of the built-in cross-coupled dielectric filter are positioned at the two coaxial dielectric resonators at the head and tail, respectively. The present invention is particularly applicable to the high-frequency realm such as microwave.

Abstract: A low profile ceramic filter for connection to an antenna, a transmitter and a receiver. The filter filters an incoming signal from the antenna to the receiver and an outgoing signal from the transmitter to the antenna. The filter has a ceramic core with through-holes that extend between sides of the core. The through-holes form coupled resonators and trap resonators. Two trap resonators are located at ends of the block, and two of the trap resonators are located in a central portion of the block. The coupled resonators are located between the end trap resonators and the trap resonators in the central portion. The trap resonators have a resonant frequency that is outside of the desired passband such that trap zeros or poles are provided.

Abstract: A ceramic monoblock filter including a direct signal path defined by at least four spaced-apart through-hole resonators in combination with ground bars extending between the through-hole resonators and a separate quadruplet cross-coupling alternate signal path defined by two conductive pads located adjacent the first and fourth ones of the through-hole resonators respectively and a separate external bridge member which interconnects and couples the two pads. The bridge member is preferably made of a material having a lower dielectric constant than the block of the filter. In one embodiment, the filter is a monoblock duplexer filter comprising respective transmit and receive sections each including at least four of the through-hole resonators, the ground bars, the two pads, and the bridge member. In the duplexer embodiment, additional through-hole resonators may define shunt zeros.

Abstract: A base station in a mobile communication network, includes at least one transmission line for transmitting a radio frequency signal. Each transmission line includes a coupling hole. A two-port coupled line includes one or more coupling holes. Each transmission line and the coupled line are couplable to form a coupling by setting the coupling hole of the transmission line against the coupling hole of the two-port coupled line. The coupling enables a signal sample of the radio frequency signal to propagate from the transmission line to the two-port coupled line.
