Abstract: An electrical grounding assembly includes an electrically conductive metal grounding substrate that is electrically connectable to a structure to be electrically grounded. A corrosion-protective jacket is on the grounding substrate. The jacket is electrically conductive and water impermeable, and includes a polymeric matrix and a particulate carbonaceous material dispersed in the polymeric matrix.

Abstract: An electrical grounding assembly includes an electrically conductive metal grounding plate, and a corrosion-protective jacket enclosing the grounding plate. The jacket is electrically conductive and water impermeable. The electrical grounding assembly further includes an electrically conductive line having a first end in electrical contact with the grounding plate and enclosed in the jacket, and an opposed second end outside of the jacket for connection to a structure to be electrically grounded.

Abstract: A thermally insulating sleeve for a compressor discharge pipe is provided. The insulating sleeve includes a non-metallic first half-sleeve having a first curved body portion and a first extended portion. The first curved body portion is configured to fit at least partially around a portion of the compressor discharge pipe. A non-metallic second half-sleeve has a second curved body portion configured to attach to the first curved body portion such that the first and second curved body portions completely encircle the portion of the compressor discharge pipe. The second half-sleeve includes a second extended portion configured to attach to the first extended portion. Each of the first and second extended portions include respective first and second cavities which, together, encase a temperature sensor in contact with, or in spaced relation to, the compressor discharge pipe.

Abstract: A battery management system is disclosed. The system includes a variable discharge resistor and a temperature measuring unit to measure the temperature of the discharge resistor. The resistance of the discharge resistor is modified based at least in part on the measured temperature.
Abstract: An apparatus for sensing an occupant in a vehicle seat for a vehicle occupant restraint system is provided. The apparatus uses sensors to measure seat deflection to determine the presence, weight, and seated location of the occupant. The sensors are connected to a processor which controls air bag deployment. In one embodiment, the apparatus uses sensors that transfer linear movement to the processor. In another embodiment, the apparatus uses sensors that transfer linear to rotational movement of seat deflection to the processor.
Abstract: A control system for a heating unit that has controls for comparing a variable electrical signal that has a value in relation to the output temperature of the heating unit and a selected electrical signal that has a value in relation to a selected temperature setting to control the operation of the heating unit to tend to produce an output temperature substantially equal to the selected temperature, the controls including a control device having a rod and tube temperature sensing unit for providing linear motion of a part thereof in relation to the output temperature of the heating unit and having a potentiometer provided with an electrical output producing part operatively interconnected to the movable part of the rod and tube unit so as to produce the variable electrical signal in relation to the output temperature of the heating unit.
