Abstract: A blower includes a body having a main inlet opening and a discharge opening, a motor assembly housed in the body, and an auxiliary inlet opening. The motor assembly includes a case, a motor and a fan. The case has a first opening and a second opening. The motor is housed within the case. The fan is configured to rotate in response to driving of the motor to generate a flow of air passing the main inlet opening, the first opening, the motor, the second opening and the discharge opening in this order. A first space that communicates with the main inlet opening and the first opening of the case is formed within the body. The auxiliary inlet opening is configured to introduce the air from an outside of the body into the first space.

Abstract: A dish treating appliance includes a tub at least partially defining a treating chamber with an access opening. A door is movable relative to the tub between closed and opened positions to selectively close and open the access opening. The dish treating appliance further includes an air supply circuit. The air supply circuit includes an air inlet and an air outlet facing an upper portion of the access opening. An air channel fluidly couples the air outlet to the air inlet.

Abstract: A sealed and ventilated receptacle for storing equipment, such as firefighter turnout gear, includes a base, at least one sidewall extending from the base, and a top wall that covers the opposite end of the sidewall. A sealable door may be positioned on the sidewall to access the inside of the receptacle and to prevent any contaminants from exiting the receptacle. The receptacle may also include an intake fan and exhaust fan that are each connected to a duct for providing fresh air to and removing contaminated air from the inside of the receptacle. The receptacle may further include a temperature control unit for regulating the temperature inside of the receptacle. Additionally, a hook for hanging a firefighter coat, trousers, or other items may also be included on the inside of the receptacle.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a smart clothes drying device and a smart clothes drying method. The smart clothes drying device includes a light intensity sensor, an integrated controller, an umbrella and at least one clothes hanger. The light intensity sensor is to sense light intensity and output a light intensity signal. The integrated controller is to receive the light intensity signal and control opening or closing of the umbrella according to a comparison result of comparing the light intensity signal with a closing light intensity threshold or an opening light intensity threshold in such a manner that the integrated controller controls opening the umbrella when the light intensity signal is greater than the opening light intensity threshold, and the integrated controller controls closing the umbrella when the light intensity signal is less than the closing light intensity threshold.

Abstract: An apparatus for removing moisture as liquid from moisture-laden air in an appliance is provided. The apparatus includes a body that defines a channel extending from a first position to a second position and a serpentine flow path between the first position and the second position that operates to redirect the moisture-laden air to remove the liquid from the moisture-laden air. The body includes an opening at the serpentine flow path that is closed when the apparatus is secured to the wall of the appliance. In operation, the body cooperates with the wall to cause the moisture-laden air entering the channel at the first position through an inlet opening in the wall to pass into the serpentine flow path to remove the liquid from the moisture-laden air before the liquid exits the channel at the second position through an outlet opening in the wall.

Abstract: Kiln design that uses a series of at least two subsections with airflow in constant but alternating directions instead of using bi-directional fans that periodically reverse directions. The uninterrupted alternating air flow may be used in continuous drying kilns (CDK) with two sets of carriages carrying spaced stacks of lumber travel in opposite directions through a sequence of chambers. The uninterrupted alternating air flow may be used with a set of at least one pathway for carriages carrying lumber to be dried where all carriages move from a first end of the kiln to a second end of the kiln.

Abstract: A system and process for disinfecting rooms such as health care facility rooms with an oxygen/ozone mixture is described, which is effective to combat “superbugs” such as Clostridium difficile (C. difficile); E. coli; Pseudomonas aeruginosa; methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA); and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE). In preferred embodiments, hydrogen peroxide is additionally used. The system and process is effective to destroy bacteria deposited on surfaces as biofilm, and, accompanied by physical agitation such as jet nozzle outlets, is effective to disinfect carpet, drapery and similar absorbent and porous surfaces.

Abstract: Embodiments provide a veneer dryer system and methods of constructing, relocating, and replacing veneer dryers and other constructs such as lumber kilns, machinery, and processing lines or parts thereof. Embodiments of a veneer dryer system may include a track and a veneer dryer movably coupled with the track. The track may extend between the desired location of the veneer dryer and a construction location. Movers may be coupled with the track at the construction location. The veneer dryer may be partially or fully constructed on the movers and moved to the desired location for use. A pre-existing veneer dryer at the desired location may remain operational during the construction and removed before the new veneer dryer is moved into place, substantially reducing downtime and costs as compared to prior methods of replacing veneer dryers.

Once the portable tobacco barn is loaded to capacity, the portable tobacco barn is covered with a protective cover sheet, and the loaded harvested tobacco stalks on curing rods then remain loaded in the portable tobacco barn during the drying and curing process, thereby eliminating the need to handle the harvested tobacco a second time and minimizing the number of times that the harvested tobacco must be handled.

The lumber charges proceed in the same direction on the flow paths through the heated second chamber, which may be an existing kiln. Charge exit portals at the distal end of the kiln and/or intermediate charge portals between the second chamber and a third chamber may be provided with insulating members configured to reduce airflow from the second chamber through the charge exit portals.

The conduit includes a first lateral wall, a second lateral wall and a lower wall. A rail is attached to the conduit. A chain is mounted on the rail and forms a continuous loop. A plurality of paddles is attached to and extends downwardly from the chain. The paddles each extend between the first and second lateral walls when the paddles are within the conduit.

Abstract: A system, method and configuration for recovering turpentine during the manufacturing of wood chips, wood pellets or other substances that may include turpentine. In general, a turpentine recovery system is used to capture turpentine from exhaust of a dryer as wood chips are being dried. Advantageously, application of the various techniques disclosed herein can result in the recovery of turpentine that can then be sold to generate revenue and, may contribute to a reduction in the capital and operation costs for emission controls for the dryer exhaust.

This enclosed system design creates an effective low temperature drying system in an inert atmosphere. The apparatus can handle a variety of different particle sizes, inhibits the growth of surface oxides on the particles by using lower temperatures, and allows reuse of solvent.

Abstract: A biomass drying system includes a rotary biomass dryer that includes a helically threaded auger shaft rotatably driven by a prime mover, such as an electric motor. No external source of heat is required to dry a wet biomass material that is supplied to an input of the biomass dryer. Instead, the helical threads on the shaft have a variable width, designed to gradually increase the compression applied as the biomass material is advanced through a generally cylindrical bore in the biomass dryer. A variable compression nozzle is disposed at a distal end of the bore and can be adjusted to achieve a desired level of a parameter such as the moisture content of the dried biomass material produced by the system. The variable compression nozzle, which can be automatically controlled, includes longitudinally extending segments that are forced radially inwardly to increase the compression force applied to the biomass material.

Abstract: A shower drying system directs air downwardly onto the walls, surfaces and/or shower curtain of a shower enclosure. In one embodiment, the air is heated. The movement of the air in the downward direction helps urge droplets of water on the shower surface towards a drain at the lower level of the shower enclosure. Remaining water on the surfaces is evaporated into water vapor that is exhausted from above the shower enclosure, thereby reducing mold and mildew.
