Abstract: An apparatus for drying foodstuffs involves a pallet supporting a stack of containers containing the foodstuffs. The pallet has a perimeter on which the stack of containers is sealingly supportable. The top of the pallet has at least one aperture to permit air flow therethrough, and the top, bottom and sides of the pallet define a ventilation duct for receiving air through the top of the pallet. • Patent number: 9517432
Abstract: A dehumidifier is revealed. A moisture-absorbing package comprises a pouch made of a fabric material having good breathability and hygroscopic substances filled in the pouch. A humidity-indicating unit made of a humidity sensing agent is mounted on an outer surface of the pouch, whereby upon saturation of water vapor as absorbed by the hygroscopic substances in the pouch, the humidity-indicating unit changes the color for indicating the timing of regenerating the hygroscopic substances. When the moisture-absorbing package is saturated with moisture, it is put in a box, and the box is put at an air outlet of a blowing device. The air blown from a blower of the blowing device is heated by an electric heating element and blown to the box for drying the moisture-absorbing package in the box to regenerate it. Then, the moisture-absorbing package removed from the box is put in different space to absorb moisture independently.

  • Patent number: 7818894
Abstract: This process embodies forcing air through grain and granular biological products using a high volume horizontal airflow from a central vertical pervious tube to one or more plenum chambers near the structure sidewall to dry or cool products. Cross-flow air movement can be supplied by either suction or pressure. This conditioning and drying method has advantages over conventional storage structures, especially where product depth is much greater than diameter. In this process, horizontal air typically moves only ? to ? of vertical distances. Horizontal airflow resistance through elongated seeds is 50-60 percent of vertical airflow. Power for horizontal airflow is typically 8-15% that of vertical airflow. Grain and seed drying costs will be 15-30% of high temperature drying. To enhance germination, storage and grain and seed quality, and to kill or exclude insect pests, ozone is applied to drying or aeration airstreams for treating stored products and storages.

  • Patent number: 6418834
Abstract: An apparatus for treating items such as for freezing, drying, or baking food items, includes an inclined track or trough with a perforated bottom through which pressurized treating gas flows to raise the item and hold it suspended above the bottom of the trough to allow the item to move by gravity down the trough as the treating gas, such as a cooling or refrigerating gas when the item is being cooled or frozen or a hot gas when the item is to be cooked, flows under, around, and over the item to be treated to thereby treat such item. It is preferred that the trough be a spiral trough surrounding a chamber containing pressurized treating fluid which flows from the chamber into a plenum under the perforated trough bottom, through the perforations and around the item and then out of the trough. The items can be stopped in the trough so that they remain for a predetermined treatment time.

  • Patent number: 6332280
Abstract: This invention relates to a vacuum processing apparatus having vacuum processing chambers the insides of which must be dry cleaned, and to a method of operating such an apparatus. When the vacuum processing chambers are dry-cleaned, dummy substrates are transferred into the vacuum processing chamber by substrates conveyor means from dummy substrate storage means which is disposed in the air atmosphere together with storage means for storing substrates to be processed, and the inside of the vacuum processing chamber is dry-cleaned by generating a plasma. The dummy substrate is returned to the dummy substrate storage means after dry cleaning is completed. Accordingly, any specific mechanism for only the cleaning purpose is not necessary and the construction of the apparatus can be made simple.

  • Patent number: 6323462
Abstract: A conveyor oven has two insulated cabinets, each cabinet having two plenums for conducting heated air toward a printing plate that rests on a conveyor. The two plenums in each cabinet face each other and are substantially identical. Each plenum has a supply and return duct assembly located above the conveyor, and is supplied by a fan and heater arrangement located below and underneath the conveyor. An insulated intermediate chamber is disposed between the exit of the first upstream cabinet and the second, downstream cabinet. With this arrangement, the conveyor carries a printing plate through the first cabinet, where the plate is heated, then through the intermediate insulated chamber, where it is maintained at a heated temperature, and then into the second cabinet where it is again heated. It is then conveyed out of the second cabinet and out of the oven by the conveyor.

  • Patent number: 6272767
Abstract: An environmental test chamber comprises a first chamber and a second chamber separated by a partition. The first chamber receives one or more electronic components to be tested. The first chamber includes an exhaust area through which air is introduced to the first chamber and an intake area from which air is evacuated from the first chamber. The exhaust area and intake area are both fitted with a panel having a plurality of apertures. The size and/or the distance between the apertures is varied to provide a uniform airflow through the first chamber, thereby insuring that each electrical component housed within the first chamber experiences the desired temperature and humidity conditions. An air intake assembly is provided which draws air into a control panel chamber housing the electrical circuitry necessary to operate the environmental test chamber, and transports the air into the second chamber to thereby permit both the control panel chamber and the second chamber to receive ambient air.
