  • Patent number: 10366562
Abstract: Verifying eligibility of players attempting to participate in gaming events is disclosed. Communication objects having RFID tags and closed circuits are worn by players within a verification system. A casino desk, hotel concierge, or other entity can administer the system. These RFID tags are adapted to communicate with associated tracking units attached to gaming machines and other devices via radio waves. Each communication object is adapted to alter its communication pattern responsive to any break of its closed circuit. Communication objects may be bracelets, wristwatches or collars, such that object removal results in the closed circuit breaking, thereby disabling or de-authenticating the device. A communication object may emit a signal which can be tied to one of two or more accounts. One of the two accounts may be charged for a player transaction depending on the transaction nature. A server having a verification program and database may also be used.

  • Patent number: 9482739
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for indoor/outdoor transition detection of devices to improve selection of the navigation algorithms. To determine whether an outdoor-to-indoor transition has occurred, a mobile device can determine whether a difference between an indoor position determined using indoor position information and outdoor position determined using outdoor position information is less than a threshold and can conclude that the mobile device transitioned from outdoor to indoor of the structure, if the difference is less than the threshold. Also, to determine whether an indoor-to-outdoor transition has occurred, the mobile device can determine whether an indoor position survey area exists, determine whether an outdoor position determined based on outdoor position information is outside of the survey area, and determine whether a signal strength associated with the outdoor position location information is greater than a threshold.

  • Patent number: 9483720
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a stimulus monitoring system. The system includes an RFID device, item, interrogation device, and reception device. The RFID device includes a brace affixed to an inductor or capacitor. The brace is constructed from a material structurally responsive to a predetermined stimulus, such that stimulus-responsive structural alterations to the brace structurally alters the inductor, capacitor, or other RFID subcomponent of the RFID circuit capable of generating a current alteration, which in turn alters the signal frequency of the RFID.

  • Patent number: 9406181
Abstract: An electronic lock that is self-configurable to automatically set a wireless communication protocol profile, or configuration, to allow the electronic lock to communicatively join the system in which the electronic lock is to be incorporated. In some embodiments, the electronic lock is programmed to execute in sequence a plurality of wireless protocol profiles stored in memory until a wireless protocol profile establishes wireless communications with another wireless communication device. Once this happens, the wireless protocol profile that was able to establish wireless communications is set as the default wireless protocol profile.

  • Patent number: 9306630
Abstract: A near field communication (NFC) initiator communicates with a target device. The carrier is modulated to transmit a digital signal. During time slots allocated for target communication, the field is load modulated by the target. The target load modulator is driven by a digital modulator to vary voltage at antenna terminals so that peak amplitude of the carrier varies for specified periods between high and low values. To alleviate interference in the target device caused by the generation of aliases during transition, the load modulator sequentially applies a range of resistances to vary the amplitude (voltage) during transition according to a specific waveform determined by the infinite impulse response of a low pass filter tuned to the cut of frequency and sampling frequency determined according to the coexistence and cohabitation specifications of a chip in which the NFC functionality is embedded.
