Abstract: Dual-mode RFID devices are provided with an integrated dual-mode RFID strap including either a UHF/HF dual-mode RFID chip or the combination of a UHF RFID chip and an HF RFID chip. An HF antenna and a UHF antenna are both coupled to the integrated dual-mode RFID strap, with the UHF antenna being formed by an approach other than etching, such as a cutting or printing operation, thereby reducing the cost to manufacture the device. If a pair of chips is employed, one of the chips may have a greater thickness than the other chip, which allows for the thicker chip to be incorporated into the device after the thinner chip without requiring a minimum separation between the two chips due to the size of a thermode used to secure the chips. Additionally, the first chip may be tested before securing the second chip, thereby limiting the cost of a rejected device.

  • Patent number: 11813512
Abstract: A method optimizes an object tracking system that uses receivers to receive beacon signals, or pings, from tracking tags that are attached to objects. An optimizer receives locations of the tracking tags and groups identifiers of the tracking tags into two or more sets. The first set identifies tracking tags that are attached to objects involved in a situation of interest. The optimizer determines a first receiver group based on the locations of tracking tags in the first set and the locations of the receivers. The optimizer determines a center of a smallest three-dimensional polygon bounding the locations of tracking tags in the first set. An antenna of each receiver in the first receiver group is then steered to point towards the center of the polygon while a number of receiver events per second generated by the receiver for tracking tags in the first set increases.

  • Patent number: 11699926
Abstract: A smart hub is provided, which includes a control circuit and an antenna array (the functions thereof include transmitting/receiving scanning signals and transmitting wireless power transfer signals). The antenna array is connected to the control circuit and transmits a scanning signal to scan within an effective scanning range thereof. When the antenna array receives the reflected signal of the scanning signal, the control circuit controls the antenna array to keep transmitting a wireless power transfer signal, within a predetermined time interval, in the direction of receiving the reflected signal, and simultaneously receives the device information from a sensor which may exist via the antenna array within the predetermined time interval. The device information is generated by the sensor by backscattering.
