  • Patent number: 9865144
Abstract: A system and method for video recognition of users in a frictionless access control system are disclosed. The access control system includes a positioning unit that tracks locations of users carrying user devices relative to an access point of a premises, where the user devices transmit user information identifying the users via wireless signals. The system determines whether the users are authorized to pass through the access point based on the wireless signals from the user devices. One or more video cameras also capture video data of the users when the users are preferably located within a threshold area of the access point. Then, the system confirms the identity of each authorized user by comparing video identification information of the user determined from the video data, such as facial recognition information, to stored video identification information for each user. Confirmed users can then pass through the access point.

  • Patent number: 9836749
Abstract: A system presented herein, called COMPATH™, incorporates computer technology, computer software and the world wide web to expedite and improve regulation compliance levels, logistics, and communications. Building departments and other regulation enforcement agencies have been historically overtaxed in their ability to systematically enforce regulations such as building codes and ordinances, and lack the means to consistently and effectively communicate with stakeholders. As the number and complexity of these building code regulations have expanded, enforcement agencies continue to lag in their ability to enforce them. The impacts of this lack of capability have been manifested in damage from catastrophic storms and earthquakes and in poor energy code compliance in buildings. Damage from numerous events has been found by forensics studies to be attributable to lax code enforcement.

  • Patent number: 9758183
Abstract: Methods, program products, and systems for building a location fingerprint database for a transit system are described. The transit system can be a subway system including underground train stations and routes where location determination using GPS signals is difficult or impossible. A sampling device can measure signals, e.g., radio frequency (RF) signals detected at the stations or on the routes. A location server can construct a location fingerprint for each of the stations and the routes. Each location fingerprint can represent expected signal measurements by a user device if the user device is located at the respective station or route. The location server can provide the location fingerprint to a user device for the user device to determine a location of the user device within the station or on the route.

  • Patent number: 9560012
Abstract: A computer network is disclosed that includes a first domain and a second domain. The second domain has a higher security classification than the first domain. The computer network also comprises a Temporal Separation Cross Domain Gateway (TSEP-CDG) having a temporal separation hardware interlock. The interlock is configured to physically prevent communication between the first and second domains. It connects with the first domain in a first state to allow the TSEP-CDG to receive data from the first domain. The TSEP-CDG executes an information-invariant data transformation (IIDT) on the received data before it is available to the second domain. The IIDT alters the representation of the data while conveying the same information, disrupting anti-malware present in the received data. The temporal separation hardware interlock is configured for connection with the second domain in a second state to allow the TSEP-CDG to transmit the transformed data to the second domain.

Abstract: A method for detection and use of device identifiers to enhance the security of data transfers between electronic devices. A first electronic device can transmit access data to a second electronic device. The access data can be associated with a first access code that can be generated based at least in part on data representing a device identifier of the first electronic device. A device identifier can uniquely identify the first electronic device from a plurality of electronic devices. Transferring the access data can involve transforming the first access code into a second access code that can include data representing a device identifier associated with the second electronic device. Transforming the first access code into the second access code can facilitate access to a resource associated with the access data for a second user, but not for a first user.

  • Patent number: 8610537
Abstract: A vehicle-use key for storing and for acquisition of information on a vehicle. The vehicle-use key permits an individual to use the vehicle, to prevent the key from being taken away when the vehicle is stolen and for finding the stolen vehicle. A vehicle-use key is used for starting a vehicle, and is configured to include a radio communication part (RFID) which performs communication with an external communication device. By providing the radio communication part to the vehicle-use key which an owner of a vehicle carries with him/her, information (data) can be transmitted or received between the radio communication part and the reader/writer of a PC terminal installed in a dealer or the like by radio. Thus, vehicle history data, maintenance history data and the like on a vehicle associated with the vehicle-use key can be transmitted and received and stored when necessary.

  • Patent number: 8613049
Abstract: The invention provides a network system which can prevent an illegal access to a network or the like set in a specific area and improve security of the network. The network system permits the entering of the user into a security area in accordance with security information (user ID) read out of a contactless IC in a carrying ID card by an entering/leaving room managing apparatus and registers an MAC address of a notebook computer carried by the user when he enters the security area to a managing server as ID information corresponding to the user ID. When a leaving request of the user is received through the entering/leaving room managing apparatus, the network system deletes the registered ID information and restricts connection between the notebook computer and the network on the basis of a registration situation of the ID information to the managing server.

Abstract: Computer-implemented methods, systems, and computer program products for document authentication and identification using encoding and decoding are provided. A method includes receiving a digitized document and comparing the digitized document to a set of markers to determine whether the digitized document is an encoded document with one or more characters replaced. In response to determining that the digitized document is encoded, information is extracted from the set of markers using a decoder according to an encoding strategy. The extracted information and the set of markers are compared with data stored in encoding history to authenticate and identify the received digitized document. Markers in the encoded document may be hidden in plain sight, such that the encoding is not readily apparent to a casual observer.
