Biometrics Patents (Class 340/5.52)
  • Patent number: 11893849
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for selectively providing access to a physical space. An example method includes identifying a location of a device associated with an authorized user based on an electromagnetic signal received by at least one sensor from the device. The electromagnetic signal has a frequency that is greater than or equal to 24 gigahertz (GHz). The example method further includes determining that the location of the device is within a threshold distance of a location of a threshold to a secured space and determining that an authentication score indicating that an individual carrying the device is the authorized user is greater than a threshold score. The authentication score is associated with multiple authentication factors identified by the device. Based on determining that the authentication score is greater than the threshold score, the threshold is unlocked and/or opened.

Abstract: A speech signal is received by a device comprising first and second transducers, and the first transducer comprises a microphone. A method comprises performing a first voice biometric process on speech contained in a first part of a signal received by the microphone, in order to determine whether the speech is the speech of an enrolled user. A first correlation is determined, between said first part of the signal received by the microphone and a corresponding part of the signal received by the second transducer. A second correlation is determined, between said second part of the signal received by the microphone and the corresponding part of the signal received by the second transducer. It is then determined whether the first correlation and the second correlation satisfy a predetermined condition.

  • Patent number: 11803850
Abstract: A biometric heartrate authentication system and method is disclosed that leverages heartrate information collected by heartrate tracking devices to build a heartrate profile for a client. The system further leverages location information collected by existing location information services to determine an activity profile for a client. The activity profile information may be used together with the heartrate profile to generate an expected heartrate range against which a cardholder heartrate may be compared for authentication purposes. Because client heartrate characteristics are generally unique, varying according to the unique activities being performed by the client at any point in time, the system and method thus provide a low cost, non-invasive method for reliably authenticating individuals and securing against fraudulent account accesses.

Abstract: An access control system receives a device-specific identifier of a mobile electronic device and an electronic reference template for facial parameters of a user. The reception takes place when the mobile device is located in a public zone, from which the user can request access to an access-restricted zone. A memory unit stores the identifier of the mobile device and the reference template, which are received by a transmitting and receiving unit, as belonging to the user present in a public zone. An image processing unit generates a real-time template for facial features of the user based on an image of the user when the user requests access to the access-restricted zone. It determines if the real-time template matches a reference template stored in the memory unit to a defined degree, wherein the user is recognized as an access-requesting user in the event of a match.

A statistical behavioral model is generated based upon passively collected input data for the user. A level of assurance (LOA) is determined based upon the statistical behavioral model and the passively collected input data from the first input. The LOA is compared with a threshold and based on the comparison: the mobile device operation is enabled as a result of determining that the LOA meets or exceeds the threshold without requiring response data from the at least one second input, otherwise, the challenge is generated and the mobile device operation is enabled responsive to valid response data from the second input.

Abstract: A protection system, method, and a security device can protect an Internet of things (IOT) system having connected hardware equipment, including at least an interface that can receive a control communication for controlling at least one connected device. They feature tasks/steps that intercept control communication between a controller and a connected device, determine whether the received control communication contains an undesirable control command, and either pass or block the received control communication to the connected device depending on whether the received control communication contains an undesirable control command. The security device can be disposed between a source of communication in an IOT network and the connected device for protection.

Abstract: A potential measurement device includes a plurality of read-out electrodes arranged in an array shape and that detects a potential at a potential generation point generated due to a chemical change, and a reference electrode that detects a reference potential. The reference electrode is arranged within the array of the read-out electrodes. With this configuration, a low-noise potential measurement device in which noise superimposed on a wire from each of the read-out electrodes to an amplifier and noise superimposed on a wire from the reference electrode to the amplifier, i.e., wiring noise, can be reduced is achieved.

Abstract: A response drone for detecting incidents within a coverage area including multiple zones is provided. With customer permission or affirmative consent, the drone may be programmed to (1) detect (or receive an indication of) triggering activity associated with one of the zones; (2) determine or receive a navigation path to that zone; (3) travel to that zone based upon the determined navigation path; (4) collect sensor data using drone-mounted sensors; and (5) transmit the collected sensor data to a user computing device associated with the coverage area for review. The response drone may be an autonomous drone in wireless communication with a smart home controller that detects triggering activity associated with an insurance-related event (e.g., fire). The autonomous drone may automatically deploy to mitigate damage to insured assets (e.g., a home or personal belongings). The autonomous drone data may be used for subsequent insurance claim handling and/or damage estimation.

  • Patent number: 11055385
Abstract: A multi-factor user authentication framework using asymmetric key includes a host device, a user agent, a gesture system, and an authentication system. The multiple factors include a user credential as well as a user gesture that indicates that the user is present. The user interacts with the user agent via the host device in order to obtain access to something for which user authentication is needed. The authentication system maintains the user credentials, which are provided to authenticate the user in response to the authentication system determining that the user is present (which can be determined in different manners, such as using a personal identification number (PIN), biometric information regarding the user, geographic location of the gesture system, etc.). The user agent, gesture system, and authentication system can be implemented on the same device (e.g., the host device), or alternatively implemented across one or more different devices.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system and method for matching a signature extracted from an electronic document (e.g., extracted as .jpg, .gif .png, etc.) with one or more other signatures. The system determines various signature attributes including a number of black pixels in the extracted image, the slopes of four different lines that bound the signature in the extracted image, and a normalized width to height ratio. Two (or more) signatures are considered a match if the attributes match to within specified tolerances. Individual attributes have their own tolerances. These tolerances are adjustable independent of the other tolerances for other attributes.
