  • Patent number: 6640007
Abstract: An electronic seal stamp and an electronic sheet are used. The electronic seal stamp has a stamp surface, and has a storing function and output function for electronic information. The electronic sheet is of a sheet shape, has a surface capable of being impressed, and has a storing function and input function for electronic information. When the electronic seal stamp is impressed on the electronic sheet, a seal image on the stamp surface of the electronic seal stamp is transferred to the surface of the electronic sheet. At the same time, the electronic information stored in the storing function of the electronic seal stamp is transferred to the storing function of the electronic sheet, through the output function of the electronic seal stamp and the input function of the electronic sheet. Thus, an electronic seal stamp system, in which both impression of the stamp surface and electronic sealing are possible, is realized.

Abstract: A synchronization circuit modulates a data signal with an amplitude shift keying (ASK) modulation method using an ASK modulation signal to output a modulated signal under the condition that the ASK modulation system and data signal are synchronized with each other. A drive circuit executes a push-pull operation based on the modulated signal and a resonance circuit resonates, under the push-pull operation of the drive circuit, to transmit a transmission signal in a radio wave. The synchronous signal controls a switching device to cut off a connection between the resonance circuit and the ground in synchronization with the modulated signal. Thereby, the transmission signal is generated sharply in the signal transmitter.

Abstract: In a remote keyless system, a fob is disclosed, which provides the user with selective control of elements in a property in concert with a controller at the property, while the fob is nearby the property. In one example the fob is a wireless portable terminal, which accepts a biometric information having been presented by a user. A transducer generates a digital data based on the biometric information. A data store receives and stores the digital data generated by the transducer. A transmitter is responsive to the digital data having been stored in the data store for broadcasting a signal, at a predetermined frequency and modulated by the stored digital data for reception by the controller, after an interval of time corresponding to a time for the user carrying the wireless portable terminal to have traveled a distance, such that the user may present a predetermined biometric characteristic at a convenient place and time prior to the time of a consequent effect thereof at said property.

Abstract: A system reduces the risk of eavesdropping on data used to access an establishment's computer network. The system comprises a personal area network (PAN) access device that couples a low power, low frequency modulated signal to a wearer and a personal area network receiver for receiving the modulated signal. The personal area network access device includes a personal data storage unit and a low power data modulator. The low power data modulator modulates a low power, low frequency signal with the data from the storage unit. This signal is capacitively coupled to the wearer's body so it may be emitted to a PAN receiver. When the wearer brings a body part such as a finger in proximity to or in contact with the PAN receiver, the receiver may receive the modulated signal. The signal may then be demodulated to obtain the user data so it may be encoded in data messages provided to a server of an establishment computer system.

Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a door lock of a vehicle having an automatic door locking circuit includes a signal sensor and a removable control unit that is responsive to the signal sensor. The removable control unit generates a door lock state change signal when the signal sensor receives a signal having a first predetermined code value. A first controllable switch that is responsive to the removable control unit is removably couplable to the automatic door locking circuit. The first controllable switch is able to override the automatic door locking circuit so that when the door lock state change signal is asserted, the controllable switch applies power to the automatic door locking circuit, thereby causing a change of state of the door lock.

  • Patent number: 6624741
Abstract: A vehicle locking system has a locking unit for a movable vehicle part (particularly a trunk lid) which can be moved between an opened and a locked position and which, in the opened position, provides access to an adjoining vehicle interior area and blocks such access in the locked position. When an authentication element is used which can be carried along on the user side, the locking unit, is reversible between an unlocked state, in which it releases the opening of the movable vehicle part, and a locked state in which it prevents the opening of the movable vehicle part. Authentication element detection devices determine whether an authentication element is situated in the vehicle interior area, and, if so, control the locking unit into its unlocked condition and/or generate a corresponding indicating signal.

  • Patent number: 6472999
Abstract: An apparatus (14) and an associated method determine signal strength of a received electromagnetic signal (18) that is comprised of a plurality of pulses that convey a remote convenience function request, and which causes performance of the requested function. A comparator (82) has a first input for receiving an electrical signal (78) with a voltage that varies to convey the remote convenience function request. A second input of the comparator (82) receives a threshold voltage value reference signal (86). An output of the comparator (82) provides an output signal (46) that indicates the occurrence of the voltage of the electrical signal (78) exceeding the threshold value of the reference signal (86). A microprocessor (100) and a threshold change trigger (122) of a controller portion (48) adjust the threshold voltage value of the reference signal (86).

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for protecting a transmission path between a base unit and a mobile key unit in an access control system, in particular for motor vehicles. A carrier signal which is modulated with a user signal is transmitted from a transmitting unit to a receiving unit. According to the invention, a separate reference signal, which has a fixed phase angle with respect to the carrier signal, is also transmitted. The phases of the reference signal and of the carrier signal are compared in a test circuit, and an alarm signal is emitted if a phase difference which varies with time is found.

Abstract: An apparatus remotely controls, for example, door locking/unlocking and alarm activation of an automobile. A transmitting device transmits communication data, which includes synchronization data and identification data. The communication data is received by the control apparatus in which the identification data included in the received communication data is compared with already stored data. The locking and unlocking of the doors of the vehicle is carried out when the identification data matches the already stored data. A continuous reception condition is detected when the communication data is received for more than a predetermined period of time. When the continuous reception condition is detected, an alarm is actuated. As such, a common transmitting button of the transmitting device can be used to effect both control of the locking and unlocking of doors and alarm activation.
