Patent number: 10238966Abstract: The present invention concerns a method and a device for estimating the value of an input in a real-time system. It concerns more particularly real time interactive systems where the input is tracked using a first sensor, typically a camera in presence of a perturbing factor. The perturbing factor is estimated using a second sensor. The component of input computed values due to the perturbing factor are cancelled based on this estimation. A next input value is then estimated from the previous computed input values where the perturbing factor has been cancelled. The estimation is then corrected by applying back the estimation of the perturbing factor.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2015Date of Patent: March 26, 2019Assignee: Nintendo Co., Ltd.Inventors: François-Xavier Pasquier, Sébastien Guido, Janos Boudet

The device may authenticate the user device based on the first request. The device may provide an authentication acceptance message, indicating that the user device is authenticated, based on authenticating the user device. The device may receive a second request, based on providing the authentication message, to establish the emergency phone call. The second request may include an emergency access point name (APN). The device may determine that the emergency APN is not provisioned for the user device. The device may provide, based on determining that the emergency APN is not provisioned, an instruction to allow the emergency phone call from the user device using the preconfigured APN.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 2015Date of Patent: January 3, 2017Assignee: Verizon Patent and Licensing Inc.Inventors: Xuming Chen, Mingxing S. Patent number: 9525705Abstract: A system and method can support on-device operation management. A token issuer on a backend server, and/or a tool, can generate an authorization token, which is bound to a user of one or more devices using a unique identifier (ID) that is assigned to the user. The unique ID can be known and/or shared between the an on-device authorizing entity and the token issuer. Then, the on-device authorizing entity can verify the authorization token before granting an execution of one or more protected on-device operations. Furthermore, the on-device authorizing entity may not grant the execution of the one or more protected on-device operations, when the unique ID is erased from the device.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2014Date of Patent: December 20, 2016Assignee: ORACLE INTERNATIONAL CORPORATIONInventors: Thierry Violleau, Nicolas Ponsini, Patrick Van Haver

Patent number: 9244448Abstract: A system and method for controlling a machine is provided. For example, the method includes coupling removeably, at an on-board controller module of a machine, a first identification device, reading, using a reader in the on-board controller module, a code stored in the first identification device, receiving, at the on-board controller module, a wireless message including another code from a control console, comparing, using a processor in the on-board controller module, the code with the received another code, and processing, using a processor coupled to the reader, the wireless message based on the comparing to determine pairing with a second external wireless identification device of a control console to the machine if the code and the received another code match.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 2013Date of Patent: January 26, 2016Assignee: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: Jarrod J. Patent number: 9201406Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes: a first storage part that stores correspondence information between a first identification information and second identification information; a user identification part that identifies the second identification information corresponding to the first identification information in response to an input of the first identification information; and an authentication request part that requests an authentication to an authentication device connected through a network based on the second identification information identified by the user identification part. The user identification part inquires the authentication device about the corresponding second identification information with respect to the first identification information that is not stored in the first storage part.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2012Date of Patent: December 1, 2015Assignee: RICOH COMPANY, LTD.Inventor: Toru Akutsu

Patent number: 9100194Abstract: A method, apparatus and/or system generates a challenge for user authentication, having a challenge data element from a stored pool of challenge data elements. The challenge is based on rule data and stored usage data associated with at least some of the challenge data elements in the stored pool of challenge data elements. The generated challenge is sent for use in an authentication of a user to a sender. A method, apparatus and/or system also generates sender authentication and corresponding location information, having a data element from a stored pool of challenge data elements. Selection of the data elements is based on rule data and stored usage data associated with at least some of the data elements in the stored pool of data elements.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 2012Date of Patent: August 4, 2015Assignee: Entrust Inc.Inventors: Serge Mister, Steve Neville, Robert J. Patent number: 9063574Abstract: The amount of power and processing needed to process gesture input for a computing device can be reduced by utilizing a separate gesture sensor. The gesture sensor can have a form factor similar to that of conventional camera elements, in order to reduce costs by being able to utilize readily available low cost parts, but can have a lower resolution and adjustable virtual shutter such that fast motions can be captured and/or recognized by the device. In some devices, a subset of the pixels of the gesture sensor can be used as a motion detector, enabling the gesture sensor to run in a low power state unless there is likely gesture input to process. Further, at least some of the processing and circuitry can be included with the gesture sensor such that various functionality can be performed without accessing a central processor or system bus, thus further reducing power consumption.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2012Date of Patent: June 23, 2015Assignee: AMAZON TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventor: Volodymyr V. Patent number: 9035745Abstract: A tool for determining whether to grant a current person access to a protected resource. A computer receives a plurality of touches performed by a current person on a touch screen. Each touch in the plurality of touches includes a location of the touch on the touch screen and a surface area measurement of the touch screen impacted by the current person. The computer determines whether each touch in the plurality of touches received matches a predetermined touch performed by a person authorized to access the protected resource. If each touch in the set of touches received matches a stored touch performed by a person authorized to access the protected resource the current person will be granted access to the protected resource.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 2012Date of Patent: May 19, 2015Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventor: Nagarjuna R.
