A monitoring station maintains a master timer that is synchronized with the local timer when the shipping container is sealed.

    Abstract: The invention encompasses an electrical apparatus. Such apparatus includes RFID circuitry on a first substrate, and sensor circuitry on a second substrate. The at least one connecting structure is removable received within the receiving structure. The invention also encompasses a method of forming an electrical apparatus. A first substrate and a second substrate are provided. The first substrate has RFID circuitry thereon, and the second substrate has sensing circuitry thereon. A receptacle is joined with one of the RFID circuitry and the sensor circuitry, and has at least one orifice extending therein. At least one prong is joined with the other of the RFID circuitry and the sensor circuitry.

    Abstract: A self timing test circuit switch powered by the same conductor as used to carry data may be used in vehicles where it is desirable to test and confirm the continuity of a critical circuit by illuminating for a brief period of time an indicator lamp after power-up of the vehicle. The switch may be used in sensor circuits where the sensor is a normally open switch and the normally open configuration can not otherwise be distinguished from an open circuit due to a wiring fault or a burned out bulb. Typical applications include checking the continuity of leads leading to metallic chip sensors in the engine and drive train oil or hydraulic fluid of aircraft engines.

    Abstract: A tamper resistant enclosure for protecting an electronic device containing sensitive information (e.g. an electronic cryptographic card), is provided. The enclosure includes an external cover and an internal cover. Four screws (one at each corner) secure the internal cover to the device and the external cover by means of standoffs. A washer is interposed between the device and the standoff. The device has a dielectric substrate with a metal pad around each hole for ensuring the electrical connection to ground through the washer, the standoff and the conductive body of the external cover. When one of the screws is at least partially removed and the internal cover is moved, the circuit is interrupted and the system assumes that a tampering is being attempted. The circuit is designed to give an alarm and/or destroy all the sensitive information contained in the protected electronic device.

These devices can also be used by the user to send a user command to remotely control the operation of the boat. The remote marine monitoring system identifies normal operating conditions for on-board equipment and compares these conditions to current operating activity in order to detect unusual activity. Security information can also be compiled and reported relating to intrusion sensors, keyless entry and the boat's physical location.

In one preferred embodiment, the alarm filter circuit includes a second-order low-pass filter section for blocking the DSL data signals to and from the alarm unit, a first-order high-pass filter section for bypassing the DSL data signals on the incoming telephone lines to the house wiring, and a first-order low-pass filter section for blocking high-frequency signals between the house wiring and the alarm unit. In a second embodiment, a fourth-order elliptical low-pass filter section replaces the second-order low-pass filter section. In a third embodiment, a third-order high-pass filter section replaces also the first-order high-pass filter section.

Features are then extracted from the return electro-magnetic acoustic energy to characterize damage to the in-service conductor. The features may be extracted through a variety of signal processing techniques, such as wavelet signal processing.
