  • Patent number: 10150620
Abstract: A sample transfer device has sample container transfer mechanisms which are arranged between a conveyance path for conveying a sample container holder to one of plural analysis devices. A sample container housing a sample is mounted in the sample container holder. The sample container transfer mechanisms transfer the sample container between the sample container holder and a sample container rack, which is used for mounting the sample container in the analysis device and for conveyance. The sample transfer device determines whether or not an analysis device is in a state suitable for receiving the sample container, and if the analysis device is determined not to be in a state suitable for receiving, controls the sample container transfer mechanism to convey the sample container to the other analysis device via the conveyance path. In this way, it is possible to suppress delays in analysis processing and decreases in throughput.

  • Patent number: 7106205
Abstract: A preferred embodiment alarm device for use with fall protection equipment includes an elongating member, an alarm, an activation member, and a connecting member. The elongating member has a first end and a second end and extends in length as the first end and the second end are pulled in different directions. The alarm is operatively connected to the first end of the elongating member, and the activation member is releasably connected to the alarm. The activation member activates the alarm when disconnected from the alarm. The connecting member interconnects the activation member and the second end of the elongating member, and the activation member becomes disconnected from the alarm when the elongating member is extended in length as the first end and the second end are pulled in different directions thereby activating the alarm when the elongating member is extended.

  • Patent number: 6884989
Abstract: This invention has as an object thereof to provide an overhead-traveling carrying apparatus which is capable of inexpensively incorporating countermeasures for detecting the presence of an obstacle such as a human being or a carelessly placed object during the lowering of an object to be carried onto the load port of a semiconductor manufacturing device prior to the contact of the obstacle with the object to be carried, thereby avoiding such contact. A structure is adopted in which obstacle detecting sensors which scan the raising and lowering path between a carriage and the load port of each semiconductor manufacturing apparatus, and which detect the presence of obstacles, are provided on the carriage with attached hoist.

Abstract: A substrate verification system is utilized for verifying substrate location and orientation in a catalytic converter mat wrapping mechanism. A mat wrap mechanism reads data from a substrate. A verification mechanism compares the identifier data with stored data. If the substrate is verified as correct, the verification mechanism activates the mat wrap mechanism. If the data from the substrate does not match the data in a system an alert is activated. If there is an error, the wrapping process will not be activated. The present invention therefore provides a substrate verification system for verifying substrate location and orientation.

  • Patent number: 6831566
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for monitoring a conveyor. The conveyor comprises a conveyor belt in an elastomeric material, with a carrying side for the transported material, a backing side and embedded reinforcements, as well as other components: namely, drive pulleys, return pulleys, reverse pulleys, conveyor pulleys, mounting structures feed chutes and other components, where necessary. According to the invention the device is characterized by comprising an opto-electronic system in the area where no material is transported, which optically records and signals any damage done to the conveyor belt, optionally with an automatic switching off of the conveyor.

  • Patent number: 6779760
Abstract: A safety system for an overhead transport (OHT) vehicle. In one embodiment, the safety system may include a pair of safety panels provided on opposite sides of the load and unload ports on a tool or stocker. An overhead sensor is provided on the OHT and is operably connected to a light curtain on the tool. In the event that the overhead sensor detects an obstruction in the travel path of the OHT during loading of a pod or cassette into the tool or stocker, the light curtain transmits an emergency stop signal to the tool or stocker controller, which terminates further loading operation of the OHT. In another embodiment, the light curtain assumes the look-down sensing function of the overhead sensor in the event that tool components interfere with the look-down function of the overhead sensor.

  • Patent number: 6720873
Abstract: A device for testing a cable deroped magnetic proximity detector positioned adjacent a cable sheave or sheave assembly on a cable operated ski lift. A sleeve of non-ferromagnetic material is temporarily secured coaxially over the steel lift cable and the sleeve is dimensioned in length and thickness in amounts sufficient to raise the cable simultaneously away from the detector and the adjacent sheaves whereby the detector indicates a derope condition. When the ski lift is operated to thereby move the sleeve over the detector and adjacent sheaves, a derope condition will be simulated and the alarm tested to determine whether it provides the appropriate signal.
