  • Patent number: 11943211
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for monitoring a behavior of a communication device by using network controllers and network manager. The communication device is included in a network comprising a set of communication devices and a network manager allowing access by the communication devices to a communication network. A communication device may send a broadcast message to available network controllers and a network manager. The communication device may also send a service request to the network manager, the service request being routed by the network manager to a communication network and sent in broadcast by the network manager to the network controllers. Using the service request as the basis for a first report on behavior of the communication device, the communication device may additionally verify the first report by a report by network controllers based on the service request received from network manager.

Abstract: A method of software launch regression testing comprises monitoring an operational parameter of an existing application running on a plurality of client devices and determining a probability interval from the operational parameter of the existing application. A candidate update application is then launched to a subset of the plurality of client devices. The method then proceeds with monitoring a corresponding operational parameter of the candidate update version running on the subset of client devices, determining if the corresponding operational parameter of the candidate update version falls within the probability interval, and, based on the probability interval falling within the probability interval, providing a testing pass notification.

  • Patent number: 11682051
Abstract: A method of presenting information to a party through a messaging application is described. Responsive to receipt of a communication from a party (e.g., the first user), a reply is sent. The communication and the reply is presented in an interface to the sender. The messaging system determines matching content that is relevant to one or both of the communication and the reply and determines a quality of the match. Determining the quality of the match may include determining a score for an advertisement based on the advertisement's responsiveness to content identified in the reply message that was sent. Based on a determination that the quality is above a threshold, the matching content is presented along with the communication and the reply.

Abstract: Collision alert systems and methods for micromobility vehicles include a proximity sensor, a speed sensor, a warning device, and a controller having a bypass mode and a warning mode. The controller compares the speed of the micromobility vehicle with a predetermined speed threshold, enters the bypass mode when the speed of the micromobility vehicle is less than the predetermined speed threshold, and enters the warning mode when the speed of the micromobility vehicle is greater than the predetermined speed threshold. The controller does not activate the warning device in the bypass mode. In the warning mode, the controller calculates an estimated time until a potential collision with the object, compares the estimated time object with a predetermined time threshold, and generates a collision warning by activating the warning device in response to the estimated time until collision being less than the predetermined time threshold.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and computer program products for selective scanning of ad-hoc networks are described herein. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a message identifying a number of times the message has been forwarded. The method further includes selectively scanning for other ad-hoc networks based on the identified number. In one aspect, a root device for an ad-hoc network is responsible for generating synchronization messages for nodes of the ad-hoc network. The synchronization message includes a count of the number of times the synchronization message has been forwarded. When the hop count reaches a limit, the synchronization message is no longer retransmitted or forwarded by receiving nodes. Nodes receiving this message may recognize they are positioned near the edge of the ad-hoc network. In at least one embodiment, these nodes may selectively scan for other ad-hoc networks based on the hop count reaching or exceeding a predetermined threshold.

  • Patent number: 8611831
Abstract: Numeric values “a” representing a respective order of transmission by a plurality of transmitting units, and a numeric value N representing the total number of transmitting units, are set for each of the transmitting units. At startup, a transmitting unit for which the value “a” representing the order of transmission of the unit has been set to 1 sets a trigger value to N and transmits information about the value “a” of the unit and detection information from a sensor, and, when the value N is detected from a received signal, transmits the value “a” of the unit and detection information. When a value of a?1 is detected from a received signal, the transmitting unit for which the value “a” representing the order of transmission of the unit has been set to other than 1 transmits the information of the value “a” of the unit and detection information.

Abstract: The subject application is directed to securing authorized access to a document processing device. Address information data associated with each mobile data device is first stored in a data storage. An incoming data message is received from a first mobile data device having identifier data assigned to the mobile device. The identifier data is then compared to stored address data and operation of a document processing device is selectively enabled via a user interface associated with the processing device according to an indication that identifier data corresponding to the received data is present in the storage. Electronic document data corresponding to an electronic document is received into the document processing device. Instruction data associated with a document processing operation is then received via the interface. Confirmation data is sent to the mobile device confirming the desired document processing operation. The desired operation is then commenced on the electronic document data.

  • Patent number: RE46569
Abstract: Method and apparatus for conveying feedback reports from a data receiving party (300) for data received from a data sending party (302) in a wireless connection. A plurality of feedback resources (304) assigned to different feedback information codes are allocated to the data receiving party for transmitting feedback reports. After checking whether the data was received correctly or not, the data receiving party selects a feedback resource (FR2) with a feedback information code that corresponds to one or more feedback reports on the received data. The data receiving party then sends feedback information on the selected feedback resource to the data sending party, thereby conveying the corresponding feedback information code. In this way, multiple feedback reports can be conveyed in a single feedback resource to the data sending party while still retaining single carrier properties.
