  • Patent number: 11578985
Abstract: An information processing apparatus acquires a route score including a travel cost and a coefficient for each of a plurality of driving route candidates. The information processing apparatus acquires a user score including an individual rate that is a time-cost conversion rate particular to a mobile user and a weight application rate particular to the mobile user. Based on the respective route scores of the plurality of driving route candidates and the user score of the mobile user, the information processing apparatus converts the travel cost of each of the plurality of driving route candidates into a corresponding cost that is a cost obtained by reflection of the time-cost conversion rate and the weight application rate of the mobile user in the travel cost. The information processing apparatus determines a recommendation order of the plurality of driving route candidates based on the corresponding costs of the plurality of driving route candidates.

Abstract: Methods for calibrating a body-worn magnetic sensor by spinning the magnetic sensor 360 degrees to capture magnetic data; if the spin failed to produce a circle contained in an x-y plane fit a sphere to the captured data; determining offsets based on the center of the sphere; and removing the offsets that are in the z-direction. Computing a magnetic heading reliability of a magnetic sensor by determining an orientation of the sensor at one location; transforming the orientation between two reference frames; measuring a first vector associated with the magnetic field of Earth at the location; processing the first vector to generate a virtual vector when a second location is detected; measuring a second vector associated with the magnetic field of Earth at the second location; and calculating the magnetic heading reliability at the second location based on a comparison of the virtual vector and the second vector.

  • Patent number: 10341838
Abstract: A method and system includes the ability for individuals to set up an ad hoc digital and voice network easily and rapidly to allow users to coordinate their activities by eliminating the need for pre-entry of data into a web or identifying others by name, phone numbers or email. This method is especially useful for police, fire fighters, military, first responders or other emergency situations for coordinating different organizations at the scene of a disaster to elevate conventional communication problems either up and down the chain of command or cross communication between different emergency units. The method and system provides that the users are only required to enter a specific Server IP address and an ad hoc event name, a password and perhaps the name of the particular unit.

  • Patent number: 10323701
Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a navigation application that presents road signs during a navigation presentation. In presenting the road signs, the application of some embodiments differentiates the appearance of road signs at junctions that require a change of direction from road signs at junctions that do not require a change of direction. The application may perform processes that ensure that it arranges the road signs on the map in an aesthetically pleasing manner. In addition, the navigation application of some embodiments does not display too many road signs along the navigated route so that the route is not by occluded by too many road signs.

  • Patent number: 10107635
Abstract: The disclosure provides for a method for determining a route for passenger comfort and operating a vehicle according to the determined route. To start, a set of routes from a start location to an end location may be determined. Each route includes one or more portions. For each route of the set of routes, a total motion sickness value is determined based on a sway motion sickness value, a surge motion sickness value, and a heave motion sickness value for each of the given portions. The total motion sickness value for a route reflects a likelihood that a user will experience motion sickness while in a vehicle along the route. A route may then be selected from the set of routes based on the total motion sickness value of each route of the set of routes, and the vehicle may be maneuvered according to the selected route.

Abstract: An approach is provided for providing routing calculations and route guidance based on geographic positioning and/or other sensor data from one or more mobile devices independent of map data. A routing platform processes and/or facilitates a processing of one or more probe data samples associated with at least one mobile device to determine one or more device tracks. The routing platform processes and/or facilitates a processing of the one or more device tracks to determine at least one tessellation, wherein the at least one tessellation is a subdivision of a plane or sphere into one or more tiles and a plurality of segments. The routing platform further determines one or more relationships between one or more of the plurality of segments based, at least in part, on a mapping of the one or more device tracks against the at least one tessellation.
