Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a display device in which the occurrence of crosstalk can be suppressed. A display device (10) includes a display unit and a separation unit (34). The display unit displays a synthetic image formed by dividing each of a plurality of images that are different from one another and arraying the divisional images thus obtained in a predetermined order. The separation unit (34) separates the plurality of images contained in the synthetic image. The display unit includes a storage unit (54) and a correction unit (52). The storage unit (54) stores crosstalk levels used when gray scale level data of a pixel displaying an image that a viewer is supposed to see, among the plurality of images contained in the synthetic image, are corrected. The correction unit (52) corrects the gray scale level data of the pixel displaying the image that a viewer is supposed to see, by using the crosstalk levels stored in the storage unit (54).

  • Patent number: 8922579
Abstract: A VCI (visual context indicator) color is assigned deterministically and proactively at runtime to user data contexts, and is not stored in the database, spreadsheet, or other context. VCI colors can be high contrast friendly colors. The same color is assigned to a given context each time the application runs unless the context's identifying property has changed. Color assignments are not made by users or by the application's designer, but are done instead by hashing from a context's identifying property into a VCI color palette containing, e.g., eight to sixteen colors. Unlike text-selection coloring, VCI coloring is based on the user data context's identifying property. The color assignment visually indicates context by displaying the context's name in the VCI color, or by displaying a graphical element in the VCI color near the context name. VCI color assignment also shows the occurrence and result of changes in user data context.

  • Patent number: 8760462
Abstract: The present invention relates to a unique color management method for calibrating and characterizing a light mixing system comprising a set of primary light modules emitting self-luminous color primaries, which may be intimately mixed to produce a batch color that matches a standard color. The radiant output of each self-luminous color primary, or channel, is modulated by a setting a light controller to a Digital-to-Analog-Conversion (“DAC”) value. In the event that the radiant output of the color primary channels is non-linearly proportioned to the DAC input values, it is useful to employ an innovative “iterative best-fit” method of simultaneously calculating admixtures of light from all color primaries that match a standard color. Otherwise, a matrix method based on matrix algebra may also be used to create a batch color that matches a standard color. A best fit tristimulus value method or best fit minimum RMSD can be used in conjunction with these spectral color matching methods.

Abstract: The present invention generates a color template design to format a presentation. According to one aspect, a plurality of template designs are provided on a visual display. A selection of one of the plurality of template designs is received from a user. A plurality of source images that are separate from the plurality of template designs are provided on the visual display. A selection of a color from one of the plurality of source images is received from the user. Colors of the selected template design are automatically adjusted to match the selected the color from the source image. The selected template design may include framing, mat, background, and foreground portions, at least one of which is adjusted. After automatically adjusting the colors, the selected template design may be displayed and/or stored for use as a template.

Abstract: A color processing apparatus comprises a storage which stores color information of a reference sample and the color characteristic of a monitor, a patch control unit which generates a plurality of color patch data having different colors based on the color information of the reference sample, and changes at least some of the plurality of color patch data based on a user instruction, and a patch output unit which corrects the plurality of color patch data based on the color characteristic of the monitor to output the plurality of corrected color patch data to the monitor. The patch control unit determines whether to acquire a color matching relation in a combination of the reference sample and the color patch data. When it is determined to acquire the color matching relation, the color matching relation in the combination is stored in the storage.

  • Patent number: 8749572
Abstract: Systems and methods for performing brush behavior simulation in an image editing application may facilitate realistic paint simulation by the addition of a fill channel to a color space representation that includes a set of color channels and an alpha channel representing opacity of the paint. The fill channel value for each pixel of a brush model or canvas may represent the amount of paint stored at the pixel. The system may include logic to support paint compositing, mixing, and depletion operations that calculate a consequent color of a destination pixel resulting from the operations dependent on the fill channel values for the source and/or destination pixels. The resulting color channel, opacity channel, and fill channel values may be converted to a color space that does not include a fill channel or opacity channel for display. A source pixel may be a pixel of an atomic element of a texture.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for color matching during compositing. In one embodiment of the invention, a set of one or more un-color matched pixels are stored and associated with a first color profile. A fragment program is generated based on the first color profile and a second color profile associated with a display. During compositing of the set of un-color matched pixels, the fragment program is applied to the set of un-color matched pixels to match colors of those pixels with the display. The color matched pixels are written to the display. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method to define automatically, in a pre-selected color space, at least one user-provided sample color. The method includes defining at least one target color within the color space to yield a standard color data set and providing a physical color swatch corresponding to the defined target color. The user then provides a digitized image comprising the user-provided sample color juxtaposed with the physical color swatch, to yield a sample color data set. The sample color data set is then compared to the standard color data set by means of a program stored on a programmable computer to determine a set of coordinates within the color space that defines the user-provided sample color.

  • Patent number: 8743139
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for automatically selecting a portion of an image that includes several pixels, each of which has a set of pixel values. The method identifies a background color of the image. For each region of a set of regions of a color space that correspond to the background color, the method determines whether a threshold number of pixels in the image have pixel values that are in the region. The method identifies the pixels of the image in the regions that correspond to the background color and have a threshold number of pixels in the image. The method generates a portion of the color space to define a selection of the image using the pixel values of the identified pixels.
