Abstract: A new human authentication test requires the user to move an image to a specified location on the display. In one embodiment, the user is presented with a display having one or more images and instructions (plain text or distorted) to move a specific image to a specific location on the display. The user then moves the image, which can be text, distorted text, a symbol, an icon, or any image, to the specified location. The system then checks where the image was moved. If the location is the one expected, the system can authenticate the response as coming from a human, as opposed to a machine or program.

Abstract: Provided is an image processing apparatus and an image processing program which are capable of selectively and readily acquiring a geometrical physical quantity of a desired measuring portion. An object image is displayed based on object image data, and a measuring portion designating image corresponding to a specific portion of the object image is displayed based on designating image data. By operation of an operation part by a user, the displayed measuring portion designating image is moved relatively to the object image. When the measuring portion designating image is moved to a specific portion of the object image, a geometrical physical quantity of a measuring portion of the measuring object, previously set so as to correspond to that specific portion, is measured.

Abstract: A hard disk drive stores hierarchical image data, a speed map holding, for each tile image, an index of the processing time required to render a tile image having a predetermined image size obtained by partitioning the image, and scenario data which defines viewpoint shifting. In a control unit of an information processing apparatus having a function of displaying an image, an input information acquisition unit acquires information with respect to the user's input operation via an input device. A loading unit loads necessary data for image displaying from the hard disk drive. A shifting condition adjustment unit adjusts the viewpoint shifting speed based upon the speed map. A frame coordinate determination unit sequentially determines frame coordinates of a display area. A decoding unit decodes compressed image data. • Publication number: 20130088507
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for controlling the presentation of a visual representation of information upon a see-through display. In the context of a method, a visual representation of information is initially caused to be presented on a see-through display. At least a portion of the information at least partially occludes a user's view through the see-through display. The method also determines a context associated with the user. For example, the method may determine the context associated with the user by receiving data based upon an activity of the user and determining the activity performed by the user based upon the data. Regardless of the manner in which the context is determined, the method reduces occlusion of the user's view through the see-through display attributable to the visual representation of the information based at least in part on the context associated with the user.

Abstract: Position tracking subsystems and onboard sensors enable a mobile device to navigate virtually a location in panoramic imagery. Physically moving the device through space provides translation data that can be used to move up or down a virtual street or other navigation actions. In some implementations, forward and backward translation enables the user to enter a structure (e.g., a commercial venue) or enter an intersection and navigate a turn onto another street at the intersection. In some implementations, information or an information layer can be displayed when translating. In some implementations, distance data can be used to move up or down a street a particular distance. • Patent number: 8411109
Abstract: A system, including apparatuses, software and methods, is disclosed for capturing and delivering images as to which various interactive functions are enabled for a user. The images introduced to the system can come from any one of a variety of sources, including from a digital camera. A graphical user interface permits a user to customize a set of interactive functions to be enabled for a given set of images. The interactively enabled images can be delivered via a webpage to a user, for example, via email, the Internet or downloaded from a disk or from disk drive on a computer on which the webpage is stored. Each image is delivered to a user in its own layer of software, which permits complex sets of images of relatively high resolution to be delivered to users without any appreciable delay associated with the delivery or the need for the user to have additional software, such as a plug-in to receive images and enable interactive functions with respect to the images.

Abstract: Systems, program products and program products for accepting a request to move a first geometric entity that is constrained to other geometric entities in a drawing that may contain both one-way and two-way geometric constraints. A set of affected geometric entities that need to be repositioned or otherwise changed as the result of moving the first geometric entity is identified. The affected geometric entities and the geometric constraints are classified into groups which are solved using a variational geometric constraint solver. If the geometric constraints cannot be satisfied, the movement of the first geometric entity is restricted. Otherwise the affected geometric entities are updated.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present technology provides a the method comprises the steps of: Converting B-spline networks to T-splines, Converting NURBS into T-spline surfaces, Adding control points to local regions, Scaling or optimizing weights across the mesh, and merging between NURBS and T-spline surfaces. The technology overcame some of the issues with implementing simultaneous multiple surface design methodology when dealing with groups of lenses and reflectors, by improving seed patch junction continuity, elimination of ripples and holes, and precisely adding control points where required. In at least one embodiment of the technology, the t-splines topology allowed for refined control over the optical surface. Control points were reduced by conversion of a NURBS into a T-spline. T-splines were used to produce new loft lenses which were further refined and merged to spline patches.
