The prism is disposed between the display panel and the lens, and comprises two refractive portions. Each refractive portion has a light-incoming surface and a light-outgoing surface. The light-incoming surfaces respectively face the planes of the display panel. The light-outgoing surfaces face the lens. An angle between the light-outgoing surfaces is greater than 0 degrees and less than 180 degrees. One of the light-incoming surfaces is parallel to one of the planes of the display panel. The other light-incoming surface is parallel to the other plane of the display panel.

Slice encoding circuitry encodes the depth image to generate encoded data. Further, the slice encoding circuitry transmits an encoded stream including the DPS and the encoded data.     Abstract: A system and method for scalable video coding that includes base layer having lower resolution encoding, enhanced layer having higher resolution encoding and the data transferring between two layers. The system and method provides several methods to reduce bandwidth of inter-layer transfers while at the same time reducing memory requirements. Due to less memory access, the system clock frequency can be lowered so that system power consumption is lowered as well. The system avoids having prediction data from base layer to enhanced layer to be up-sampled for matching resolution in the enhanced layer as transferring up-sampled data can impose a big burden on memory bandwidth.

    Abstract: A three-dimensional (3D) computer aided design (CAD) user interface (UI) is described that maps both two-handed and one-handed free hand gestures and poses to map to actions in the 3D CAD UI environment. Free hands may be used to directly both constrain and organically modify an object. Intuitive analogs to physical tools are used, with gradual changes to visibility. Parts are automatically modified to meet object-specific and rule-based constraints. Multiple copies of a physical analog element, with known dimensions, may be continually created by a free hand and automatically assembled into an appropriate, organized and contiguous structure containing integral visible fiducials based on the dimensions of the element. Temporary layers of an object are used to permit organic modifications of portions of an object. Use of a fastener creates and then fastens to a mating part. Visible physical analogs provide perspective. Non-linear magnification permits rapid, wide dynamic range object modification.

Information associated with the function can be signaled explicitly to a decoder or derived implicitly by the decoder. One aspect of the present invention addresses simplified disparity to depth conversion, specifically division-free disparity-to-depth conversion.

    Abstract: A 3D silhouette sensing system is described which comprises a stereo camera and a light source. In an embodiment, a 3D sensing module triggers the capture of pairs of images by the stereo camera at the same time that the light source illuminates the scene. A series of pairs of images may be captured at a predefined frame rate. Each pair of images is then analyzed to track both a retroreflector in the scene, which can be moved relative to the stereo camera, and an object which is between the retroreflector and the stereo camera and therefore partially occludes the retroreflector. In processing the image pairs, silhouettes are extracted for each of the retroreflector and the object and these are used to generate a 3D contour for each of the retroreflector and object.
