Plural (e.g., Stereo Or Sap) Patents (Class 348/483)
  • Patent number: 10425758
Abstract: An acoustic apparatus and a method thereof in a mobile terminal are provided. More particularly, an apparatus and a method for establishing a multi-sound system that provides sounds of sense of reality by connecting with players existing in the neighborhood and reproducing channels of contents using a plurality of players when reproducing the contents including multi-sound channels are provided. The apparatus includes a control player, a server player, and a client player. The control player selects players that reproduce respective channels using information of the channels forming the multi-sound channel contents. The server player analyzes the contents to be reproduced by the players to provide the information regarding the channels to the control player. The client player reproduces the channels of the relevant contents under control of the control player.

  • Patent number: 8526622
Abstract: Television audio signal encoders include a matrix that sums a left channel audio signal and a right channel audio signal to produce a sum signal. The matrix also subtracts one of the left and right audio signals from the other to produce a difference signal. The encoders also include a configurable infinite impulse response digital filter that selectively uses one or more sets of filter coefficients to filter the difference signal and/or the sum signals. Each selectable set of filter coefficients is associated with a unique filtering application to prepare the difference signal for transmission. Decoders with the matrix are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8239767
Abstract: Audio stream management techniques are described. In an implementation, a unique representation is generated by a client for each of a plurality of audio streams associated with television content received at the client. Each of the unique representations is displayed in a user interface at the client to be selectable by a user to cause output of a respective audio stream with the television content.

  • Patent number: 8166093
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided to generate digital audio signals, such as stereo signals, from a multimedia program. The program can be distributed directly through an electronic network, or indirectly by recording the program on a medium such as a DVD or CD. The multimedia program is normally compressed using a standard DVD, MPEG or similar compression protocol. In accordance with the invention, the program is decoded to generate a multimedia output signal and an audio output signal. The multimedia signals can be played immediately or at will on a suitable multimedia device. The audio output signal is compressed, using for instance MP3 or ATRAC3, and then transmitted to an external device for storage as a digital file. The digital file can then be replayed at will.

  • Patent number: 7457420
Abstract: A Japanese BTSC audio broadcast signal has three modes of transmission: mono, stereo, or dual mono. The control channel centering at 3.5 fH is one of the three channels in the J-BTSC signal, and contains information to indicate to the decoder which one of the three modes the audio transmission is in. The present invention uses a bandpass filter directly in the AM band, followed by envelope filtering and a decision circuit. Therefore, the need for AM demodulation and AM carrier detection is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 6927802
Abstract: A video signal processor is used to receive programs in the form of a composite video signal which incorporates a video broadcast channel, a main audio channel and an additional audio channel. The main audio channel may carry a standard audio track for the program while the additional audio channel carries a different audio track, such as dialogue in a foreign language, DVS audio track, or a modified audio track that has been changed from the main audio track slightly. The video signal processor selects one of the audio tracks as the active audio track based on the contents of the additional audio channels and/or a viewers' preferences. The video signal processor may be a stand-alone device, or may be incorporated into a TV receiver, VCR, DVD player, etc.

  • Patent number: 6191822
Abstract: A separator circuit receives a stream of data including both audio and video components. The separator circuit separates the audio and video components for transmission to appropriate devices. In the preferred embodiment, the separator circuit is part of a decompression engine which decompresses the received stream of data and also separates the audio and video components. Preferably, the decompression engine is implemented within a device configured for coupling to an IEEE 1394-1995 serial bus network. Alternatively, the decompression engine is implemented as a separate dedicated device within the IEEE 1394-1995 serial bus network. After separating the audio and video components, one or both of those components are transmitted from the decompression engine over one or more isochronous channels on the IEEE 1394-1995 serial bus, to the appropriate devices.
