  • Patent number: 9924865
Abstract: Some embodiments are directed to a system and a method for estimating gaze from a set of eye measurement points that are indicative of a gaze pattern of a user viewing a scene. Some other embodiments are directed to obtaining sets of eye measurement points from different users viewing the same scene. In another embodiment, the different sets of eye measurement points are mapped to a common coordinate system for reciprocal calibration In yet another embodiment, a scene transformation for mapping the common coordinate system to a coordinate system associated with the scene can be calculated by matching eye measurement points from the common coordinate system to interest points of the scene. The scene transformation is thereby calculated more accurately than individually calculated scene transformations, thereby providing a more accurate estimate of the gaze points.

  • Patent number: 9894226
Abstract: An information processing apparatus can be worn by a user of an image forming apparatus, and includes a camera, a visual line detecting portion, a target image recognizing portion, a positional condition determining portion, and a wireless communication portion. The target image recognizing portion, when a positional condition among setting conditions for image-formation-related processes is specified, recognizes an image of a specification target that is included in a visual field image photographed by the camera, the specification target being a target of specification of the positional condition. The positional condition determining portion determines a specified positional condition based on a position in the image of the specification target recognized by the target image recognizing portion, the position corresponding to the visual line direction detected by the visual line detecting portion.

  • Patent number: 9870500
Abstract: A system for sensor enhanced speech recognition is disclosed. The system may obtain visual content or other content associated with a user and an environment of the user. Additionally, the system may obtain, from the visual content, metadata associated with the user and the environment of the user. The system may also include determining, based on the visual content and metadata, if the user is speaking. If the user is determined to be speaking, the system may obtain audio content associated with the user and the environment. The system may then adapt, based on the visual content, audio content, and metadata, one or more acoustic models that match the user and the environment. Once the one or more acoustic models are adapted and loaded, the system may enhance a speech recognition process or other process associated with the user.

Abstract: A vehicular accessory system includes an attachment element adhered at an interior surface of a windshield of a vehicle and an accessory assembly attached to the attachment element. The accessory assembly includes circuitry disposed in the housing, the circuitry including a video camera. The video camera, when the accessory assembly is attached to the attachment element, has a field of view into the interior of the vehicle that encompasses the head of a potential driver of the vehicle. The video camera captures an image of the face of the potential driver and, responsive to image processing by image recognition software of the vehicular accessory system, the vehicular accessory system determines that the potential driver is an authorized driver who is authorized to operate the vehicle and, responsive to this determination, enables the ignition system to allow the motor of the vehicle be started.

Abstract: Disclosed is a driver condition detecting device and a driver condition informing device detecting inattentive or incursive driving by movements of a head and eyeball of a driver during driving. The CPU, when the head and the eyeball of the driver are determined as not facing forward, and neither the vestibule oculogyral reflex movement nor the semicircular carnal cervix reflex movement is detected, determines and informs the inattentive driving. The CPU, even though the head and the eyeball of the driver are determined as facing forward, detects an angle-of-convergence, and determines and informs the inattentive driving when the angle-of-convergence lies above a threshold.

Abstract: A method of iris scanning and proximity sensing, which includes receiving and photographing an iris in the iris scanning mode of the subject computer, laptop, mobile device or tablet, smartphone or i-phone; sensing for the available amount of necessary light and whether the iris is within the desired range to ensure proper acquisition of the sample. The iris is then photographed. The method provides for recognizing the iris utilizing the previously photographed iris image and converting the photographed iris image to an encrypted mathematical value, which will then be stored within the acquiring electronic device such as computer, laptop, smartphone; i-phone; mobile device or tablet, to be compared for future reference against any subject photographed iris. If any subsequently photographed iris matches the encrypted mathematical stored image, access to the device is granted. If the subsequently photographed iris does not match the encrypted mathematical stored image, access is denied.

Abstract: In an ophthalmic measuring method, a traceable marker in particulate form is administered to the lachrymal fluid of a subject's eye, and the lachrymal fluid is irradiated with illuminating light. Images of the illuminated lachrymal fluid are electronically captured respectively at different times. Two images from among the captured images are selected, with each of the two selected images displaying the traceable marker. A characteristic point of each of the two selected images is specified. A movement speed of the traceable marker is measured based on positions thereof in the two selected images and on a time difference from specifying the characteristic point of one of the two selected images to specifying the characteristic point of the other of the two selected images. The measured movement speed of the traceable marker is outputted as the movement speed of the lachrymal fluid of the subject's eye.
