  • Patent number: 9357191
Abstract: According to one embodiment, an image processor includes: an acquisitor; a predictor; a corrector. The acquisitor acquires information regarding shape of a projection surface on which a first image is projected, information regarding position of a viewpoint for observing the first image projected on the projection surface, and information regarding position of a projection point for projecting the first image. The predictor predicts a viewable region in which the first image projected on the projection surface is viewable from the viewpoint based on the acquired information regarding the shape, the acquired information regarding the viewpoint, and the acquired information regarding the projection point. The corrector corrects a second image to generate the first image, the second image being set within the viewable region.

  • Patent number: 9329716
Abstract: A system having a finger-wearable sleeve having an IR light-emitting diode (LED), an IR camera; and a controller associated with the IR camera. The controller is configured to communicate with a host computer that utilizes a visual content projector to project visual content onto the screen. And based on signals received from the IR camera (1) trigger a first input functionality in the host computer, wherein the first input functionality is based on a location on the screen where an IR beam from the IR laser impinges, and (2) trigger a second input functionality in the host computer, wherein the second input functionality is based on a location on the screen near where an IR beam from the IR LED is emitted.

  • Patent number: 9219910
Abstract: A method for creating a volumetric display. The method includes projecting a first light type onto a planar projection surface to display first content and, concurrently with projection of the first light type, first projecting a second light type onto the planar projection surface to display second content that at least partially overlays the displayed first content. The method includes second projecting the second light type onto a three dimensional (3D) set of reflective elements, whereby the second content moves between the planar projection surface and the 3D set. The first light type may be non-coherent light and the second light type may be laser light (or coherent light). While projected on the planar projection surface, the coherent light is at a first illumination level that matches or is somewhat greater than the non-coherent light, and a second much higher illumination level is used when projecting onto the 3D set.

  • Patent number: 7967445
Abstract: An image projecting apparatus enables the formation of a projected image faithful to original image information by reducing degradation in the projected image due to decrease in imaging performance of a projection optical system. Image information is processed by an image processing device, which includes a first and a second image processor. A light modulating device modulates a flux of light emitted by an illumination optical system based on the processed image information. The modulated flux of light is projected on a screen by a projection optical system. If the image information processed by the first image processor in a pixel region is not within a representable modulation range of the light modulating device, the image information is processed by the second image processor.
