Abstract: A liquid crystal lens is provided on a liquid crystal display panel. Electrodes extending vertically to a plane of drawing are provided on an upper substrate of the liquid crystal lens at predetermined intervals. No electrodes are provided on a lower substrate. An initial alignment of liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal lens is vertically directed with respect to the plane of the drawing. A voltage applied to the upper substrate electrodes generates a transverse electric field to rotate the liquid crystal molecules. Polarization light emitted from the liquid crystal display panel is vertically directed to the plane of the drawing, which generates a refractive index distribution of the polarization light in a liquid crystal layer to form a convex lens within the liquid crystal lens. This lens allows first and second pixels to be recognized by right and left eyes to allow a three-dimensional display.

The domains have different domain alignment vectors, and major axes of liquid crystal molecules on alignment layers are aligned in parallel to transmission axes of the liquid crystal display panel. In addition, the unit pixel has a pixel electrode including slits. The slits have a slit angle at which the slits cross alignments of the domains at a predetermined angle, and the slit angle is less than 45°. As a result, transmittance of the unit pixel may increase, ensuring high image quality.

Abstract: When a conductive layer is formed, a first liquid composition containing a conductive material is applied on an outer side of a pattern that is desired to be formed (corresponding to a contour or an edge portion of a pattern), and a first conductive layer (insulating layer) having a frame-shape is formed. A second liquid composition containing a conductive material is applied so as to fill a space inside the first conductive layer having a frame-shape, whereby a second conductive layer is formed. The first conductive layer and the second conductive layer are formed so as to be in contact with each other, and the first conductive layer is formed so as to surround the second conductive layer. Therefore, the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer can be used as one continuous conductive layer.

Abstract: Light leakage between pixel electrodes over a video signal line in a TN-type liquid crystal display device in which a dot inversion driving is applied with a three o'clock viewing angle is prevented. Pixel electrodes (PX) are formed on both sides of a video signal line (DL) of a first substrate (SUB1), and an end of the pixel electrode (PX) and the video signal line (DL) overlap each other. Over a second substrate (SUB2), a black matrix (BM) is formed in a portion corresponding to the video signal line (DL). By shifting the black matrix BM and the video signal line DL to the left with respect to a gap G between the pixel electrodes PX, it is possible to prevent light leakage caused by a disclination line (DS) which occurs by a horizontal electric field between pixel electrodes (PX).
