Patent number: 9329403Abstract: Spectacles having a lens frame and arms connected thereto and a retaining strap which can be fastened to the spectacles. A receiving device is provided on the free end of at least one arm, which receiving device interacts with a connecting element to which a retaining strap is undetachably fastened, e.g. moulded on. A plurality of receiving devices can be disposed at predetermined positions between the front end of each arm and the free end thereof. This has the advantage that the retaining strap can be adapted individually to the shape of the head, the hair length and possible individual preferences of the wearer of the spectacles. Thus the retaining strap can be immovably fastened not only to the free end of the arm but also to a front end of the arm, that is to say where the arm adjoins the hinge, and all intermediate positions.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2013Date of Patent: May 3, 2016Inventor: Eberhard Lenz

Publication number: 20140354939Abstract: The nature of the invention relates to eyewear retaining devices. In the past, many eyewear retainers have been produced; however, none have combined an attached resealable container with an eyewear retainer. The invention provides the user with a new location to store personal affects. Personal items such as ID cards, credit cards, sunscreen and electronic devices, etc. . . . can now be worn on the user's head and around the user's neck while attached to the user's eyewear. The invention also combines the advantages of floating wallet and floating eyewear retainers. The invention allows the user to keep his or her eyewear and personal items inside the invention from sinking. Several variations of the invention exist such that the present invention can be waterproof, have a translucent viewing window and/or be connected to itself to form a band that con be affixed to the user's body without the use of eyewear.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 1, 2013Publication date: December 4, 2014Inventor: Steven Joseph Walicki

Patent number: 7467867Abstract: An eyewear retention device is disclosed that includes a length of resilient cord, such as cabling having a smooth plastic outer sheath, and terminating at each end in a tapered, rubberized retention tubing, and including retention end grommets molded against the ends of the cabling to prevent the slipping off of the retention tubing from the cabling. The combination of the resilient cord and the retention tubing produces a tensioned arc such that in addition to retaining eyeglasses to the vestment of a user when not in use, the retention device forms a suspended arc over the wear's upper torso such that the device does not contact the wear's upper torso or their vestment when donned over a wear's eyes.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2008Date of Patent: December 23, 2008Inventor: Ronald Williams

Patent number: 7419260Abstract: An eyeglass assembly having a secondary eyeglass frame combined with a main eyeglass frame by a protection strip is provided. A pair of eyeglass temples connected to the main eyeglass frame is adjustable to an angle as desired. When the eyeglasses are used for sport purpose, a strap may be fastened to the eyeglass temples by inserting a stopping portion of an engaging member of the strap into a preset hole on the eyeglass temple and allowing the stopping portion engaged with a crossed inner groove adjacent the hole by rotating at a direction such that the strap and the eyeglass temples can be quickly fastened to achieve stable positioning or quickly disassembled when not in use.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 2007Date of Patent: September 2, 2008Assignee: Day Sun Industrial Corp.Inventor: Ching-Hsiang Wang

Patent number: 7380932Abstract: A floatation device for eyeglass lanyards comprising a float member, a quick-release connector, and attachment means adapted for securing the connector to the float member while preferably allowing movement of one relative to the other. At least two such floatation devices are used with each eyeglass lanyard so that when the ends of the lanyard are secured to the earpieces of an eyeglasses frame worn by a user to form a closed loop, the float members will hang comfortably behind the user's neck or upper back until the eyeglasses are inadvertently separated from the user. If the eyeglasses land in water after separation from the user, the lanyard and float member or members will allow the eyeglasses to remain on or near the surface of the water where they can be easily retrieved. The preferred maximum size of each float member is approximately that of a current U.S. fifty-cent piece.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2007Date of Patent: June 3, 2008Inventor: June Hazel Bellant
