Patent number: 6371612Abstract: An adjustable clip-in laser eyewear assembly for securement to the inside of a pair of eyeglasses. The eyewear assembly has a frame structure having a pair of filter lens frame members that are joined at the top by a brow bar structure having a spring member. Hooked clips are fixed and positioned at the top and exterior sides of each filter lens frame member. The hooked clips face outward from the laser eyewear assembly to position the assembly on the inside of the eyeglasses. The top and side clips in cooperation with the spring of the brow bar structure permit the adjustable securement of the laser eyewear assembly to the inside of the eyeglasses.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2001Date of Patent: April 16, 2002Inventor: Thomas D. Patent number: 6367926Abstract: A first frame of an eyeglass device includes a bridge with a magnetic member, and two retaining mechanisms for supporting a pair of lenses. The retaining mechanisms defines a frontal plane. The bridge ties the two-retaining mechanism together, with the magnetic member magnetically coupling to another magnetic member at the bridge of a second frame. In one embodiment the coupling occurs at a coupling surface on the second frame that is substantially perpendicular to the frontal plane. The magnetic member at the bridge of the first frame can be a permanent magnet or a magnetizable member. The second frame can be a primary frame, and the first frame can be an auxiliary frame.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2000Date of Patent: April 9, 2002Assignee: Contour Optik, Inc.Inventors: David Chao, Richard Chao

Patent number: 6364478Abstract: An eyeglass device having a primary frame and a auxiliary frame. The primary frame includes a front portion for holding a first pair of lenses, where the front portion has two opposed ends. A first temple is attached to one end of the front portion and extends rearwardly from the front portion. The first temple has an inside surface, an opposite outside surface, and a housing formed on the inside surface, wherein the housing has a mouth and a bottom defining a socket to receive a magnetic member therein A second temple is attached to the other end of the front portion and extends rearwardly from the front portion. The second temple has an inside surface, an opposite outside surface, and a housing formed on the inside surface, wherein the housing has a mouth and a bottom defining a socket to receive a magnetic member therein. The auxiliary frame includes a forward portion for holding a second pair of lenses, where the forward portion has two ends.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 2000Date of Patent: April 2, 2002Inventor: Arun Jaswant Jagasia
