Patent number: 5602603Abstract: Eyeglasses having interchangeable lenses which are held in place by inner and outer lens attachment clips mounted at the bridge and temple, respectively, of the frame. The frame and/or lens is resilient so that the frame or lens can resiliently deform to allow the lenses to slide from beneath the lens attachment clips, yet the frame securely holds the lenses in place during use.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1995Date of Patent: February 11, 1997Inventor: Pierre N. Patent number: 5448318Abstract: A clamp assembly comprises a clamp (12) having two levers (1, 2) linked at middle areas thereof with first ends thereof closing together to form clamping jaws (5, 6) and second, opposite, ends thereof formed as opening grips (3, 4) for separating the clamping jaws, which are spring loaded toward one another. The clamping jaws (5, 6) have forked shapes. The branches of the forks, and the ends thereof, are arranged to be spaced from one another so that they extend across, or extend over, a bridge of a pair of eyeglasses to be placed on inner, upper edges of spectacle glasses (13) or on an eyeglass frame (14). A first lever (2) of the clamp (12) has thereon a clamp coupling element (10, 19, 22, 24) for being selectively attached to, and selectively detached from, an optical-device coupling element (18, 20, 23, 25) on an optical device. The clamp assembly makes possible an easy and quick exchange of optical devices to be attached thereto.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 1994Date of Patent: September 5, 1995Assignee: Heine Optotechnik GmbH & Co. Patent number: 5349392Abstract: In a pair of eyeglasses with filter lenses, each filter is mounted in a ring shaped in the form of a prone U whose opening is directed toward the center of the ring. The ring is contained within an outer ring connected to the eyeglasses mounting frame. A manipulating device comprising a molded member is located inside the ring in a recess formed in the periphery of the filter lens. The outer ring has a semicircular slot permitting the angular displacement of a positioning rod, which is integral with a piston slidably mounted in a recess against the action of a spring. One end of the rod is integral with a gripping member, while the other end is engageable in one of the positioning openings formed through one limb of the shaped outer ring.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 1993Date of Patent: September 20, 1994Inventor: Alain Buffet

Patent number: 4952043Abstract: A sun shade is provided for a pair of glasses including right and left hand panel structures for disposition immediately forward of the right and left hand lenses of the glasses and the panel structures are guidingly supported relative to each other for movement toward and away from each other. Biasing means is connected between the panel sections for biasing the latter toward each other and remote portions of the panel structure include upstanding, tensioned elastic members which may have their vertical mid-portions deflected apart by the temples of the associated glasses rearward of the pivot axes thereof and the upper margins of the panel sections include rearwardly projecting support flange sections for overlying the right and left hand portions of the associated glasses.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 1989Date of Patent: August 28, 1990Inventors: Peter J. Patent number: 4889420Abstract: The device of the present invention includes a plastic body member having a pair of upwardly spaced-apart legs and a pair of downwardly spaced-apart legs. The downwardly spaced-apart legs are adapted to spring apart and yieldably grip a sun visor therebetween. The upwardly spaced legs have an elastomeric member therein which forms a V-shaped slot for receiving the nose frame of a pair of glasses.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 1989Date of Patent: December 26, 1989Inventors: Robert J.
