  • Patent number: 4298680
Abstract: Method and apparatus for manufacturing a seamless printing roll. A liquid photosensitive resin is applied to the space between a process cylinder and a rigid plate which is transparent to actinic light. Relative movement is provided between the cylinder and the plate perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder, while the cylinder is rotated in synchronization with the relative movement of the rigid plate to evenly spread the photosensitive resin. The photosensitive resin is simultaneously exposed in the space between the cylinder and rigid plate.

  • Patent number: 4082456
Abstract: This invention relates to an improvement in a device for adjusting an original to be copied, in particular an original which is repeatedly conveyed through the exposure station of a photocopying machine, including a transport mechanism with a deviatable transport band arrangement adapted to transport said original at a variable speed, and when said original is to be copied a number of times, in a closed path, further including a device for lengthening the path on one side, two switches positioned transversely and normal to the direction of flow and adapted to be actuated by the original whereby a switching circuit to a servomotor is closed when the leading edge of the original deviates from a correct position, said servomotor being connected to a correcting element adapted to change the length of the path of the original on one side of said transport band arrangement, the improvement comprising generator means adapted to put out a first signal proportional to the transport speed of said original, said servomo

  • Patent number: 4058359
Abstract: Copying apparatus of the type in which an original after being passed through a copying path with a copy sheet can be either delivered away or passed back through a return path into the copying path for making another copy is provided with a simple and reliable system for adjustably positioning a side edge of the original, even if it is fragile, relative to a side edge of the copy sheet so that the position of the images on multiple copies will not vary from copy to copy.

  • Patent number: 4042299
Abstract: A photographic recording machine for sequentially exposing images onto a photosensitive web, including an optical system for forming an image designator mark on the photosensitive web in a predetermined position in relation to each image. The optical system includes a light source and a light transmitting pipe having an unfocused lens portion on the end thereof closest the web, and is pivotally mounted for movement adjacent to and removed from the web. Movement of the optical system is controlled by operating the access means of the recording machine when the web is inserted or removed from the machine.

  • Patent number: 4017184
Abstract: Apparatus for automatically copying information contained on sheets of translucent material such as microfilm cards when such master sheet is loaded into the apparatus and dials on the control panel are set to the desired number of copies. The device includes subsystems for unwinding, exposing, cutting and developing a web of sensitized copy material on a continuous flow basis. A control system causes the device to wrap the translucent master sheet around a transparent printing cylinder during exposure and to cut the web of copy material in the proper relationship to the exposed images. The transparent printing cylinder has an outside circumference which is approximately equal to the distance between the locations at which the web of copy material is cut.
