Multicolor Picture Patents (Class 355/32)
  • Patent number: 5063405
Abstract: The invention provides a color copying machine or apparatus for forming chromatic images which irradiates an original with rays from a light source, focuses the reflection from the original as latent images on a photosensitive recording medium, and forms chromatic images corresponding to the latent images on a copy sheet. The apparatus includes supplementary exposing means for irradiating a specified region on the photosensitive recording medium with desirable chromatic light. Thus the color of images on the region is desirably changed to make the region conspicuous or inconspicuous.

Abstract: An image recording device wherein a photo-sensitive paper or a plain paper is selected as a recording medium. If a monochrom image is to be recorded, a provisional image formed with light-shield materials which corresponds to an original image to be recorded is directly transferred onto the plain paper to form a monochrom image thereon. If a color image is to be recorded, the light-shield image is once transferred onto an image carrier, and the light-shield image carried on the image carrier is exposed on the photo-sensitive paper to form a latent image thereon. The latent image formed on the photo-sensitive paper by the above exposure is then developed to a visible color image.

  • Patent number: 4803523
Abstract: This invention is directed to the separation of electromagnetic radiation into a, plurality, of selective wave length bands or colors. The term color separation, broadly applied, is meant to be the separation of primary and secondary or complementary wave lengths or colors for the purpose of geometric imaging. Such color separation is achieved, substantially, instantaneously, without the loss of wave length energy or color intensity by a novel means of reflection, transmission and color filtration. The separated colors or selective wave length bands can be, substantially, instantaneously, recreated as a geometric image or can be recorded for later recreation as a geometric image such as by photographic or movie films or by tapes; lithographic plated or engravings. Also, the separated colors or selective wave length bands can be used in making printing plates, directly, without using film.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for full-color reproduction of a continuous tone color picture or scene using multiple diffraction gratings and masking techniques. A properly photosensitized media, containing regular arrays of multiple diffraction gratings (70), is first created using computer-generated masks and an interferometric recording technique. This plate is referred to as the "white grating canvas" master or WGC master. Reflective and/or transmissive replicas of the WGC master are then created. For the reproduction of each unique scene, one of these WGC replicas is selectively masked in order to leave only certain gratings or portions thereof active. Photographic or xerographic means are two possible ways in which the masking might be accomplished. The selective masking of the WGC itself, or an intermediate material which is then laminated in registration with the WGC, is done in such a way as to reproduce the primary color components in the original scene when properly illuminated and viewed.

A light source is provided for projecting a photo-image formed on the photosensitive member onto a photosensitive recording sheet through the photosensitive member. In a modified embodiment, the copying apparatus has a construction substantially the same as the conventional electrophotographic copying machine except that a photosensitive drum is made of transparent material and covered by a thin transparent photoconductor. Consequently a toner image corresponding to the photo-image of a manuscript is formed on the photosensitive drum. A light source is provided for projecting the toner image on a photosensitive recording sheet.

The laser beams are modulated by color image signals representative of respective differently colored images.
