Abstract: Methods are disclosed to identify and/or count a number of electronic devices present in an area using emitted passive Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) signals. The identification and/or counting of Bluetooth-enabled devices improves private and public security in determining human presence. Bluetooth-enabled devices passively emit BLE signals for inter-device communication in the form of Bluetooth Advertising Packets. The packets are sent by BLE-enabled devices to search for other known or compatible BLE devices, and advertise information such as media access control (MAC) addresses, device manufacturers, connection capabilities, and manufacturer-specific data. By passively listening to and decoding the observed BLE signals, access to the packets and the metadata they contain is gained. The disclosed methods can include use of other wireless data transfer protocols, such as Bluetooth and Cellular.

  • Patent number: 12190005
Abstract: In a cloud print system a print job is transmitted from a client terminal to a second cloud print service via a first cloud print service. The first cloud print service, when registering the second cloud print service as a printer, obtains connection information for connecting to the second cloud print service and registers the second cloud print service as the printer in association with the connection information, and in response to a request from the client terminal, transmits the connection information to the client terminal. The client terminal accesses the second cloud print service based on the connection information and receives a service according to the second cloud print service.

  • Patent number: 12192057
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media are provided for provisioning a common subnet across a number of subscribers and their respective virtual networks using dynamically generated network policies that provide isolation between the subscribers. The dynamic generation of the network policies is performed when a host (e.g. client) is detected (via a switch) as the host joins the computing network via virtual networks. This ability to configure a common subnet for all the subscriber virtual networks allows these subscribers to more easily access external shared services coming from a headquarter site while keeping the separation and segmentation of multiple subscriber virtual networks within a single subnet. This allows the Enterprise fabric to be more simple and convenient to deploy without making security compromises.

  • Patent number: 12192431
Abstract: A printing system includes an acquirer, a comparator, a calculator, and an allocator. The acquirer acquires the number of media printed by a first printing device installed at a first location. The comparator compares the number of printed media acquired by the acquirer with the number of media specified based on a billing amount. The calculator calculates a first number of printable media of the first printing device based on the comparison by the comparator. The allocator allocates at least a part of the first number of printable media calculated by the calculator as a second number of printable media to a second printing device installed at a second location. The second printing device can perform printing as a billing target based on the second number of printable media.

  • Patent number: 12190095
Abstract: In one aspect, a disclosed method includes learning one or more chip agnostic parameters across a plurality of best known configuration (BKC) firmware versions, performing BKC attributes tuning based on said learning, implementing platform specific BKC table offsets and a handoff block to pass the table offsets to update routines by creating a trusted session for platform firmware table updates, and dynamically publishing changes in BKC policy. A BKC firmware serialization protocol may be implemented to ensure gaps in firmware versions at an end user platform are resolved by synchronizing each BKC version attribute. The serialization protocol may employ node-based cloud ecosystem learning. The method may further include reloading memory map parameters for uninterrupted services. The uninterrupted services may include, as examples, user presence detection after power resume and central processing unit (CPU) power cap functions.

  • Patent number: 12182922
Abstract: To compute an image of a dynamic 3D scene comprising a 3D object, a description of a deformation of the 3D object is received, the description comprising a cage of primitive 3D elements and associated animation data from a physics engine or an articulated object model. For a pixel of the image the method computes a ray from a virtual camera through the pixel into the cage animated according to the animation data and computes a plurality of samples on the ray. Each sample is a 3D position and view direction in one of the 3D elements. The method computes a transformation of the samples into a canonical cage. For each transformed sample, the method queries a learnt radiance field parameterization of the 3D scene to obtain a color value and an opacity value. A volume rendering method is applied to the color and opacity values producing a pixel value of the image.
