  • Patent number: 11630618
Abstract: A method for correcting an error in image printing, the method includes receiving a reference digital image (RDI). Based on a predefined selection criterion, one or more regions in the RDI that are suitable for use as anchor features for sensing the error, are automatically selected. A digital image (DI) acquired from a printed image of the RDI, is received and the one or more regions are automatically identified in the DI. Based on the anchor features of the DI, the error is automatically estimated in the printed image. A correction that, when applied to the DI, compensates for the estimated error, is calculated. The estimated error is corrected in a subsequent digital image (SDI) to be printed, and the SDI having the corrected error, is printed.

Abstract: A printing apparatus includes an image former which forms a tone pattern image on a sheet conveyed from a sheet feeding deck, a color measurer which performs color measurement by reading the tone pattern image formed by the image former, and one or more controllers including one or more processors and one or more memories. The one or more controllers are configured to generate tone correction data based on a difference between color measurement results by the color measurer and a reference value, and perform tone correction for print target image data by using the generated tone correction data. The reference value is registered in association with a type of sheet that is accommodated in the sheet feeding deck, and in a case where the type of sheet that is accommodated in the sheet feeding deck is changed, the reference value is cleared.

  • Patent number: 11556084
Abstract: An image inspection apparatus includes the following. A reader reads a sheet in which an image is printed, reads the sheet together with a background, and obtains a read image. A background member is provided in a position which is to be a background of the sheet when the sheet is read by the reader. A hardware processor extracts sheet outline information of the sheet from the read image and measures a misalignment of a position of the image with relation to the sheet based on the extracted sheet outline information. The hardware processor performs control based on a measured result of the misalignment of the position of the image. The hardware processor adjusts a degree of control performed based on the measured result of the misalignment of the position of the image according to a density difference between the sheet and the background member.

  • Patent number: 11554583
Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a print execution section and a controller. The print execution section includes: a printing head having nozzles arranged in a first direction; a head driver that drives the printing head to discharge ink from the nozzles thereby forming dots on a printing medium; and a movement mechanism that moves the printing medium relative to the printing head in any of the first direction and a second direction intersecting with the first direction. The controller obtains a piece of object image data, generates, by using the object image data, a plurality of pieces of dot data indicating formation states of the dots for pixels, and prints a printing image by causing the print execution section to execute discharge of the ink and movement of the printing medium by use of the pieces of dot data.

Abstract: A hybrid ink limit is applied during the creation of an ICC profile. The hybrid ink limit takes into account a percentage total area coverage (TAC) ink limit and a volume-based ink limit. The percentage TAC ink limit is specified using an input from an operator. The volume-based ink limit is retrieved based upon the media for the ICC profile. Both ink limits are applied to primary color combinations for color patches to be printed in a test chart used to capture measurement data to create the ICC profile. A combination of primary colors at exceeds either ink limit is adjusted to meet the ink limit. The adjusted combination is used in the test chart to generate the measurement data for the ICC profile. After creation of the ICC profile, the volume-based ink limit is applied to the ICC profile color combinations to identify those combinations still over the ink limit.
