    Abstract: In a printing method, a printer driver and a printer employ the same image compression and decompression methods so as to improve printing speed. Image data compressed by a predetermined compression method is received from a printer driver of a host computer by a printer, and the received compressed image data are decompressed using the same compression method and are printed. A scanline method is, preferably, employed as the compression and decompression methods.
