Abstract: A control circuit receives from a mobile receiver a request for a certificate for a particular sourcing entity and responsively transmits to that mobile receiver a corresponding certificate. The certificate includes an entity logo that corresponds to a particular message sourcing entity and decryption information. The mobile receiver can employ the decryption information to decrypt an encrypted authenticated entity digital signature to thereby authenticate that a mobile message that included the signature was sourced by a particular sourcing entity and to also display the entity logo in conjunction with presenting the message sourced by the sourcing entity to thereby provide visual confirmation that the sourcing entity is indeed an authenticated source of the message. Presentation of the entity logo can be in combination with an additional graphic feature that specifically and uniquely represents and communicates that confirmed authentication (i.e.

  • Patent number: 7593128
Abstract: There is provided a printer control apparatus which can be applied to an image forming apparatus in which a plurality of types of readers and a plurality of types of printers can be connected to a single controller, and which enable efficient transfer of image data from the reader to the printer via an image memory of the controller. The controller receives image data from a reader and temporarily stores the same in an image memory, and transmits the stored image data to a printer. The controller acquires a reader processing speed from the reader and a printer processing speed from the printer, and determines, while the image data is being written to the image memory, timing for transmitting the image data written in the memory to the printer according to a difference between the reader processing speed and the printer processing speed and a sub-scan size of the image data.

Abstract: A portal for transferring information between a master server and a third-party client using a transportable replicating server is provided. The portal may be particularly useful for and may provide a significant cost advantage and benefit when access to front and back-office servers is limited or not accessible. The master server may replicate information (e.g., applications and data) from the front and back-office servers to the replicating server. After replication, the replicating server appears to third-party clients as the front and back-office servers, containing the functionality and data to facilitate front and back-office operations. Being transportable, the replicating server can move from a first location at which the replicating server can communicate with the master server to a second location at which the replicating server can communicate with the third-party clients. At the second location, the information on the replicating server may be communicated to the third-party devices.

  • Patent number: 7564576
Abstract: This invention has as its object to receive image data from image sensing apparatuses of various manufacturers and to print a high-quality image by making image data transfer and a printing instruction, which are independent from interfaces. Since an image sensing apparatus such as a digital camera or the like calculates image feature amounts, and transfers the calculation result to a printing apparatus, huge image data need not be transferred from the image sensing apparatus to the printing apparatus again and again, and a high-quality image can be output. Upon printing image data transmitted from a digital camera (DSC) (3012) to a PD printer (1000), after a protocol is established by applications (NCDP) installed in the PD printer and DSC, the PD printer transmits its Capability list to the DSC. The DSC calculates an image feature amount of a selected image to be printed, and transmits the calculation result to the PD printer.
