Abstract: An interactive, autostereoscopic system for displaying an object in 3D includes a mirror configured to spin around a vertical axis when actuated by a motor, a high speed video projector, and a processing system including a graphics card interfaced to the video projector. An anisotropic reflector is bonded onto an inclined surface of the mirror. The video projector projects video signals of the object from the projector onto the inclined surface of the mirror while the mirror is spinning, so that light rays representing the video signals are redirected toward a field of view of a 360 degree range. The processing system renders the redirected light rays so as to interactively generate a horizontal-parallax 3D display of the object. Vertical parallax can be included in the display by adjusting vertically the displayed views of the object, in response to tracking of viewer motion by a tracking system.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a stereoscopic image display system and a method of controlling the same. An eye tracking module locates current 3D spatial positions of the viewer's eyes, and generates the information of both left and right eyes' current 3D spatial positions. A control module controls a display device that can alter the direction of the light outputted, and outputs images on the display device in time multiplex mode. The light containing the left eye image is outputted to the position of left eye instead of right eye at one time point, and the light containing the right eye image is outputted to the position of right eye instead of left eye at another time point, so that a stereoscopic image is perceived according to the parallax theory. The other side, corresponding to the side recorded using color filter of the remaining primary colors, has only a fixed or adjustable neutral density filter that matches the luminosity to that of the one primary color filter. Retinal rivalry suppresses the one primary color image on the side of the less luminous neutral density filter image, thus generating full stereopis. Abstract: A 3-dimensional displaying apparatus includes an image displaying panel having a plurality of pixels and a backlight panel spaced apart from one surface of the image displaying panel. The backlight panel includes a first line source set having a plurality of line sources arranged at regular intervals and a second line source set having line sources arranged spaced apart from the respective line sources of the first line source set by a predetermined interval. The first line source set and the second line source set are driven alternately. Thus, in a case where a horizontal location of an observer varies, the change of brightness of image information and the crosstalk between adjacent visual fields are minimized, and pseudo-stereoscopic vision is prevented.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display panel, a lens plate and a lens driver. The display panel includes a plurality of unit pixels. The display panel is driven by dividing a single frame into N sub frames. N is a natural number. The lens plate is on the display panel. The lens plate includes a plurality of lenses which convert a two dimensional (“2D”) image displayed on the display panel into a three dimensional (“3D”) image. The lens driver disposes the lenses at a first position during a first sub frame. The lens driver moves the lenses to a second position from the first position and disposes the lenses at the second position during a second sub frame. The second position is shifted by 1/N of a width of the unit pixel from the first position.
