  • Patent number: 8183727
Abstract: An electric motor such as an AC induction electric motor includes a rotor having a rotor core and a rotor shaft. The rotor shaft defines an axially extending bore which has an electrical grounding ring positioned therein. The electrical grounding ring has an inertia insensitive configuration and forms a relatively low resistance electrical circuit segment between the rotor shaft and an electric motor housing to ground the electric motor rotor. The electric motor includes an oil lubricated bearing for the rotor shaft, and a sealing member such as a lip seal is positioned within the axially extending bore to inhibit lubricating oil intrusion therein. A non-rotating stub shaft may be mounted in the housing and extends into the axially extending bore to fluidly seal with the sealing member and electrically connect with the electrical grounding ring, which is fixed to rotate with the rotor shaft.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a non-solid conductive surge absorber, which comprises a non-solid conductor formed by evenly mixing a non-solid solvent and a conductive medium and filled in a shielding case thereof in a watertight manner, and a plurality of metal plates each mounted on the shielding case in a watertight manner with a first end inside the shielding case and a second end extended out of the shielding case. Therefore, when a surge is generated, the number of electric charges accumulated on the metal plate connected to a circuit due to the surge will cause the conductive medium evenly dispersed in the non-solid solvent to rapidly and electrically connect with each other, so that the electric charges can be discharged to a ground terminal through the non-solid conductor for efficiently preventing electronic components on the circuit from being damaged by the surge.

  • Patent number: 7808364
Abstract: A protection cover used for avoiding the influence brought about by the temperature effect of a varistor is proposed. The protection cover is made of ceramic or refractory material, and is used to bear high temperature generated when a metal oxide varistor breaks down to catch fire and to further cover the fire therein, thereby preventing the fire from burning out application components around the metal oxide varistor. Moreover, accommodation portions and grooves for receiving temperature breakers are disposed on the protection cover to provide a better contact surface between the protection cover and the temperature breakers so that the temperature breakers can more accurately detect the temperature on the protection cover, hence reducing the occurrence of the situation of erroneous actions.

  • Patent number: 7598840
Abstract: A MOV includes a MOV body, a first lead, a thermal cut-off fuse, a second lead and a silver electrode area. The MOV of the present invention employs the silver electrode area formed on and electrically coupled to the MOV body, thus the MOV has a lower inductance, which accordingly, enables the MOV to have a high and sound thermal conductivity. Hence, the MOV can fleetly and perfectly transfer heat to the thermal cut-off fuse in case of over-voltages, thus enabling the thermal cut-off fuse to cut off the power more quickly.

  • Patent number: 6714398
Abstract: A bulk degaussing apparatus and method for erasing magnetic media of various sizes. A media passage track is provided such that media passing therethrough is uniformly exposed to the magnetic fields provided through the gap.
