  • Patent number: 6360891
Abstract: An illuminated tool organizer is provided to illuminate tools in dark or dimly lighted areas. For this purpose, the tool organizer is arranged for receiving and securing a flashlight, or other portable light source, in a position to illuminate portions of the tool organizer. The illuminated tool organizer includes an upper rack that defines a plurality of openings to receive tools for supporting the same from the upper rack. In addition, a lower base defining a base platform from which to support tools thereon is disposed below the upper rack. To fix the upper rack in spaced relation to the lower base, a support structure is provided to extend upward from the lower base to the upper rack to fix the same at a predetermined elevation above the lower base. In order to receive and secure a flash light in either a horizontal or vertical position, a cradle is disposed adjacent the upper rack. The cradle is formed to define an opening for receiving a flashlight in an upright substantially vertical position.

The display-holder has a display-receiving pocket as well as a passage between the display-receiving pocket and the interior space within the sack. This permits a display to be easily taken in and out of the display-holder. Since the display-holder is accessible solely from the interior space within the sack there is a great deal of security. The sack also has a display within the display-holder and a number of electric light sources which can be flashed or turned on to illuminate the display. The satchel carries its own source of electrical current.

  • Patent number: 6106136
Abstract: An illumination device for vessels that have access ports terminated with pipe flanges. The illumination device includes a retention collar that is adapted to receive a flashlight at its first end. The opposite second end of the retention collar terminates with a flange. A conduit extends through the retention collar from the first end to the second end. A mounting element is provided for attaching the retention collar and the flashlight to the access port of the vessel. The mounting element includes an annular base plate. A coupling mechanism is attached to the annular base plate. The coupling mechanism selectively receives the flange of the retention collar in an orientation wherein the center of the retention collar aligns with center of the mounting bracket. The annular base plate of the mounting bracket clamps to the pipe flange of the vessel over an inspection window. This provides an unobstructed passage through which light from the flashlight can enter the access port of the vessel.

  • Patent number: 6099140
Abstract: A small, lightweight, battery-powered lighting device which can be attached to the upper edge of a divider in a purse or a briefcase for use by a person needing to view and/or easily access items in the interior thereof. The device would have a substantially horseshoe-shaped elongated housing configured to hold two batteries in an end-to-end relation within an upper battery compartment having a circular cross section only minimally larger in diameter than the size of battery contemplated for use. It also would have a lower light compartment with sides that taper toward an elongated focusing lens attached across the bottom edges of the housing, two spaced-apart clips attached against the outside surface of the housing and downwardly extending toward the lens, and an on-off switch connected through the end of the battery compartment toward which the positive terminals of the batteries are directed.

  • Patent number: 6086216
Abstract: The present invention provides a portable lighting device comprising a water bottle formed of a light transmitting material and a lamp case fitted to the open end of the water bottle. A light bulb is positioned within the lamp case and a light transmitting lens is positioned between the light bulb and the interior of the water bottle whereby light emitted from the light bulb is transmitted through the lens to the interior of the water bottle and is diffused through the wall of the water bottle. A method for illuminating a space is provided in which water is introduced into a bottle so that the bottle is at least partially filled and the bottle is sealingly and releasably attached to a source of light.

  • Patent number: 6076937
Abstract: An improved tool tray apparatus having an interior tool storage area, an upper peripheral edge portion, and a light emitting mechanism disposed around at-least a part of the upper peripheral edge portion. The light emitting mechanism improves the lighting conditions when working in poorly lighted environments. More particulary, the improved tool tray apparatus selectively illuminates the interior tool storage area of the tool tray, and the area around the upper peripheral edge portion of the tool tray to provide for a safer work environment. The light emitted by the illuminated tool tray apparatus of the invention may be controllably switched between different colors at a controllably varied intensity.

  • Patent number: 5984754
Abstract: An illuminated toy pail includes a translucent pail body, a handle attached to the pail body, and a retainer affixed to the interior of the pail body which is effective for holding a chemical light stick within the interior of the pail body. The bottom of the retainer includes a press-fit flange which is press fit into a pre-formed hole in the bottom wall of the pail body, and the top of the retainer includes a vertical bore which releasably receives and holds the light stick in a vertical orientation within the interior of the pail. The activated chemical light sticks can be easily inserted into the pail to illuminate the pail, thereby providing both novelty and safety aspects to the pail. When used, for example, in a Halloween, pumpkin-shaped pail body, the light causes the translucent pail body to glow as if a candle were lighted inside the pumpkin, provides a small amount of light to illuminate the ground below, and provides a highly visible, lighted safety indicator for passing vehicles.
