Abstract: An underwater diving light has a rotatable front filter ring for selecting light filtration as needed for underwater still or video photography conditions. The filter ring is removable and interchangeable with different rings. Another important feature is efficient cooling of the LEDs and other internal electronics of the diving light assembly. The water is in contact with a metallic front face that conducts heat directly away from a metal core circuit board carrying the LED array or arrays. In one form of the diving light water channels are provided so that the ambient water can enter the assembly to spaces behind the LCD circuit board to efficiently cool the LEDs and associated electronics. The front plate assembly can be removable, for rinsing the internal cooling cavities, for interchange with different front face assemblies, and for air travel when the LCDs must be removed from driving electronics for safety concerns.

Abstract: A waterproof-breathable structure for a flashlight includes a housing and a ventilative plug. The housing is penetrated by a hole with one or more chamfered segments, and the ventilative plug has an outer diameter greater than the hole to be closely fit therein. The ventilative plug has a capping portion, an abutting flange extending from an outer part thereof, and a rim extending from an inner part thereof. Thereby, inner pressure generated in the flashlight due to battery oxidation over time is allowed to escape through an interval formed between an inward retracted periphery of the ventilative plug and the chamfered segments formed at the inner periphery of the housing hole, while the ventilative plug closely fit in the hole of the housing of the flashlight serves to effectively prevent external moisture from incursion.

Abstract: An illuminating device having folding solar panels, which comprises a lamp cover, a light source, two solar panels, and a folding holder on which the two solar panels are positioned. The opening of the lamp cover is smaller than the deployed area of the folding holder. When it is intended to place the light source, solar panels, and folding holder inside the lamp cover, the folding holder are folded by a predetermined angle so as to pass through the opening of the lamp cover. Accordingly, the illuminating device may significantly reduce the overall volume thereof without compromising the working efficiency. The illuminating device is flexible in arrangement and assembly, and is also more flexible in construction since the solar panels may be positioned at the highest portion to absorb more sunlight.

Abstract: A compact lighting assembly includes a circuit board having a battery, a light, a switching circuit and a push button switch selectively powering the light with the battery via the switching circuit. The operating life of the compact lighting assembly is increased by using a rechargeable battery charged by a photovoltaic device such as a solar cell. Even greater operating life is achieved with the use of a light-actuated switch, such as a photocell or photodiode, which limits or cuts off battery draw and illumination of the light in daylight or lighted ambient conditions and enables illumination of the light in dark ambient conditions such as nighttime and low light environments. An indicator such as a visible light is provided for identifying whether or not an infrared light is on and drawing power.

Abstract: A low profile lighting apparatus is characterized by a battery housing, a rail-engaging plate connected to the housing by a pair of arms, and a recessed activating push-button located between the arms and adjacent the rail-engaging plate. A flexible resilient tab, also recessed between the arms, secures the apparatus to a rail. A lock-out switch is built into a plug for closing an end of the housing. The plug has three discrete rotational positions, one for attachment, a second for activation of an illumination source, and a third for preventing accidental activation of the illumination source by requiring simultaneous axial pressure and rotation. Instead of the plug, a hinged door having a sliding latch part can be utilized. The sliding latch part includes a pair of resilient legs that cooperate with surfaces inside the door to urge the latch part toward a latching condition.
