Abstract: A lamp housing uses a tubular metal support functional as a heat radiator within which is an electrical circuit board having a component mounting surface, and in opposition thereto, a thermal transfer surface positioned for conducting heat, from the circuit board to the metal support. A clear lens is secured to the metal support, and a pair of ribs integral to the clear lens extend into contact with the component mounting surface of the circuit board thereby urging the thermal transfer surface toward the metal support for good thermal contact and heat transfer. A thermal transfer tape or paste may be used between the circuit board and the metal support surface upon which it rests. The circuit board may be laid onto the metal support without sliding it into grooves and the clear lens may be snapped into place over the circuit board engaging grooves in the metal support.

Abstract: A solar energy street lamp structure with an air passageway is provided. The solar energy street lamp structure includes a lamp support, a photovoltaic panel, a lighting unit, and a power module. The photovoltaic panel and the lighting unit are coupled with the street lamp, respectively. The power module stores power generated by the photovoltaic panel and provides the stored power to the lighting unit. Moreover, the air passageway is formed between a first body and a second body of the lamp support to enable air circulation. Thus, heat generated by the photovoltaic panel and the lighting unit in operation can be dissipated by air circulating through the air passageway. The solar energy street lamp structure with the air passageway is capable of effective heat dissipation and therefore has an extended service life.

Abstract: A mercury light source tube such that a detrimental effect on its lifetime caused by gathering of mercury at peripheral portions of electrodes can be prevented or controlled, a light source device, and a display device. The mercury light source tube has a tube body in which mercury is sealed, electrodes provided to the tube body, and projections provided on an outer surface of the tube body to be integral with the tube body. The projections are placed between the electrodes or in positions at a distance from the electrodes toward the tube body center. The projections locally increase the surface area of the tube body so as to easily radiate heat to the outside, and locally decrease temperatures of the positions where the projections are placed and their peripheral portions so that mercury gathers at the low temperature portions.

Abstract: The present invention relates to LED bar modules where the LED groups are placed at a pixel board. The present invention further concerns a method for calibration of LEDs. It is the object of the invention to achieve a highly efficient LED bar for generating a bar of light. A further object of the invention is to store calibration data for each LED both electrically and mechanically close to the actual LED. Preferably, the main printed circuit is placed inside a heat conductive tube, where the pixel board is placed outside the heat conductive tube in a longitudinal recess, where the main printed circuit is placed inside an isolation cover. Hereby, it is achieved that the LEDs are placed on the outside of the tube in a way where heat generated from the LEDs is conducted downwards to the tube. Inside the tube, the rest of the power electronics and also the light controlling electronics are placed.

Abstract: LED-based lighting fixtures suitable for general illumination in surface-mount or suspended installations, in which heat dissipation properties of the fixtures are significantly improved by decreasing thermal resistance between LED junctions and the ambient air. In various examples, improved heat dissipation is accomplished by increasing a surface area of one or more heat-dissipating elements proximate a trajectory of air flow through the fixture. In one aspect, various structural components of the fixtures are particularly configured to create and maintain a “chimney effect” within the fixture, resulting in a high air-flow rate, natural convection cooling system capable of efficiently dissipating the waste heat from the fixture without active cooling.
