  • Patent number: 7905630
Abstract: A light effect system includes a light source and at least one aperture element interposed between the light source and an exit lens of the system. The aperture element has at least one aperture and at least one light effect element positioned therein. The system uses an aperture element having at least two “fingers” partly surrounding each light effect element in at least 180° of the circumference. These “fingers” engage with the contour of the outer surface of the light effect element to hold the light effect element in position in the aperture, and the fingers are formed of a flexible material. Hereby, it is achieved that the locking and releasing of the light effect component can be done by push and pull in an ideal perpendicular direction to the light path. In other words, no angling, bending or twisting is necessary, so a minimum of space is required.

Abstract: A lighting apparatus includes a plurality of light-emitting diodes emitting red, blue, and green light. The plurality of light-emitting diodes emit light beams and are arranged so as to emit the light beams toward a focusing point. A control circuit is provided for controlling the intensity of light emission of each of the light-emitting diodes emitting red, blue, and green light. A concave reflector is provided for reflecting and radiating the light focused from the light-emitting diodes to the focusing point so that the light is further focused or scattered. The apparatus also has a position-changing mechanism for changing a relative position of the concave reflector relative to the focusing point of the light-emitting diodes.

Abstract: A laser leveling device includes a laser instrument disposed in a housing, a plate slidably received in the housing and a lens attached to the plate. The lens includes two or more portions having different patterns to generate different light beams when the laser instrument generates the light through either of the portions of the lens, by moving the plate relative to the housing. The plate includes an aperture movable to align with the laser instrument, to allow the light beam to selectively emit through the aperture of the plate directly, without emitting through the lens. A switch may be disposed in the housing and actuated by the plate when either the aperture or the lens of the plate is aligned with the laser instrument.

Abstract: When a position of an adjustable shade is switched from a low beam position to a high beam position, a spring acts so as to attenuate an repulsion force or attraction force of the solenoid rapidly due to a sudden increase in an elastic force of the spring at the end of the movement of the adjustable shade toward the high beam position. As a result, the operating noise at the time of switching the position of the adjustable shade is considerably reduced.

Abstract: An automotive headlamp assembly comprises a reflector positioned within a housing. The reflector defines a lamp cavity where a light source is positioned. The reflector includes a first portion designed to reflect light in a low beam pattern and a second portion designed to reflect light in a high beam pattern. An actuator is also positioned within the lamp cavity. The actuator is operable to move a light shield in a linear direction parallel to the optical axis of the reflector. In particular, the actuator is operable to move the light shield between a low beam position that exposes the light source to the first portion of the reflector and a high beam position that exposes the light source to both the first portion and the second portion of the reflector.

Abstract: A bifunctional headlamp having a bulb shield operable to project a low beam light pattern or a high beam light pattern. A bulb shield surrounds a bulb inside a housing. The bulb shield is attached to an actuator, which rotates the bulb shield about the bulb. The bulb shield contains projections placed opposite one another on the bulb shield, which serve to selectively shield portions of emitted light from the bulb from reflecting out of the housing. The selective shielding of the light emitted from the housing allows the bifunctional headlamp to utilize one bulb for both a low beam pattern and a high beam pattern. The use of one bulb for two functions reduces complexity and electrical requirements.
