At least opposite two sides of the outer circumferential wall of insulation cover are respectively formed outwards with an elastic clamping flake. The elastic clamping flake is removable and flexible so that the outer disk cover and the elastic clamping flake may work with each other to directly wedge the lamp onto the ceiling. Thus, the lamp that may be provided without any shielding cylinder is removable and replaceable conveniently for achievement of the advantages of carbon decrease, energy saving, and environmental protection.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 8, 2008Publication date: April 8, 2010Inventor: Robert Wang

Patent number: 7670033Abstract: A fire stop for use with a light fixture in a suspended ceiling or wall. It prevents flames and smoke from passing through the light fixture and spreading throughout a building by moving above the ceiling or behind the walls. The fire stop has a lightweight enclosure that defines an interior space disposed above the suspended ceiling, or behind the wall. Contained within the interior space are a portion of the light fixture and a layer of intumescent material. The intumescent material forms a material with a relatively low thermal conductivity that substantially fills the interior space, impeding the movement of flames or smoke, when the intumescent material reaches at least a pre-determined activation temperature.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2007Date of Patent: March 2, 2010Assignee: Tenmat Ltd.Inventors: Adrian Michael Steer, Peter Tonge, John Valentine

Patent number: 7654686Abstract: A luminaire comprising an output aperture having an input port and an output port, a radiation guide having an input port and an output port and an array of LEDs located at the input port of the guide. Light emitted by the LEDs is transmitted into the guide. The input port of the aperture operatively connects to the output port of guide and is positioned adjacent thereto so that a central plane of the output aperture is asymmetric relative to a central plane of the radiation guide.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2007Date of Patent: February 2, 2010Assignee: Osram Sylvania Inc.Inventor: Napoli Oza

Publication number: 20100020551Abstract: A recessed lighting fixture comprises a base plate mountable in an opening in a room ceiling or wall, the base plate defining spaced apart front and back surfaces wherein the front surface is substantially flat and aligned with the surface of the ceiling or wall when mounted thereon, capable of being plastered and painted to match the ceiling or wall into which it is installed, the plate having an opening to allow light to pass through. A two-part, expandable housing substantially surrounds the base plate, the housing consisting of an upper and lower assembly, with the base plate secured to the lower portion and the lower portion adjustably mounted to the upper portion of the housing. A curved dome is adjustably mounted adjacent the back surface of the base plate, contained within the housing and centered on the light opening.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 23, 2008Publication date: January 28, 2010Inventors: Gregory L. Patent number: 7648247Abstract: A light source device (411) has a lamp body (411A) including a light source lamp, a reflector (417) and an anti-explosion glass (418), and a lamp housing (411B) for accommodating the lamp body (411A). A plurality of projections (411B8) protruding along an optical axis of a light beam irradiated by the light source lamp are formed on the lamp housing (411B). Further, the reflector (417) has an approximately concave cross section and a positioning surface (417C) that touches the projections (411B8) of the lamp housing (411B) to locate the lamp body (411A) relative to the lamp housing (411B) is provided on a distal side of the concave section. The positioning surface (417C) is continuously flush.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2006Date of Patent: January 19, 2010Assignee: Seiko Epson CorporationInventors: Yasunori Ogawa, Shinsuke Ito

Publication number: 20100008093Abstract: Generally, a fixture for securing optoelectronic packages may be used to secure one or more optoelectronic packages for mounting one or more components and/or one or more wires to at least first and second mounting surfaces at different relative angles. The fixture is rotatable between at least first and second mounting positions with a top surface of the fixture being at respective first and second mounting angles relative to a horizontal plane. The fixture may be configured to secure the optoelectronic package(s) for positioning at different mounting angles to facilitate mounting the components and/or wires to the mounting surfaces at the different angles. The fixture may also be configured to be continuously adjustable over a range of angles between the first and second mounting angles.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2008Publication date: January 14, 2010Applicant: APPLIED OPTOELECTRONICS, INC.Inventors: Kai-Sheng Lin, Chian-Hung Chen, Limin Chen

Patent number: 7637642Abstract: The inventive ceiling-mounted light-fixture support assembly includes a mounting bracket having upper and lower surfaces, a length, and a width between two width sides. The assembly also includes a fixture attachment member having a top with portions defining a top opening which has a width narrower than the width of the mounting bracket. The fixture attachment member further has a recessed portion defining a slideway which (a) is in lateral communication with the top opening, (b) has a width wider than the width of the mounting bracket, and (c) is spaced sufficiently lower than the opening-defining portions of the top to receive the two width sides of the mounting bracket. In use, the fixture attachment member can be positioned so that the mounting bracket is at least partially within the slideway and then repositioned so that the mounting bracket is within the top opening for light-fixture support.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2007Date of Patent: December 29, 2009Assignee: Ruud Lighting, Inc.Inventors: Brian L.
