  • Patent number: 4860173
Abstract: A headlamp for motor vehicles exhibits a diffuser disc which serves to mask a light exit aperture of a reflector housing and which is retained on the latter by a fastening frame and which is braced toward the depth of the reflector housing only by the reflector housing. The reflector housing yields at least in a bracing region in case of a collision and clears the path for a yielding plunging of the diffuser disc into a reflector housing cavity without the fastening frame being prejudicially deformed.

  • Patent number: 4796165
Abstract: A tail light assembly is provided for a vehicle body. The tail light assembly is secured to the vehicle body by threaded fasteners which extend from a point externally of the vehicle body through openings in the tail light assembly into threaded engagement with body structure. The threaded fasteners are obscured from external view by of a cover plate which is secured to the tail light assembly over the threaded fasteners. The cover plate is also secured to the tail light assembly by threaded fastener structure. However, this threaded fastener structure extends from a point within the opening provided for a deck lid and is hidden from external view when the deck lid is closed.

  • Patent number: 4788632
Abstract: A compact flashlight comprising a rectangular housing including a front wall mounting a substantially coextensive lens. A reflector mounts within the housing immediately rearward of the lens and defines, in conjunction with a rearwardly directed bulb mount, a pair of battery chambers laterally to opposed sides thereof. A frictionally mounted removable rear wall is received within peripheral recesses and closes the housing, cooperating therewith for the retention of batteries within the battery chambers. The rear wall similarly retains an externally accessible switch.

  • Patent number: 4779180
Abstract: An arrangement for fastening a glass in a bulkhead lighting fitting, wherein three small columns are fixed with and project perpendicularly from the bulkhead fitting and are arranged substantially at the apices of an equilateral triangle. The small columns each include a sidewardly opening groove to accommodate an edge of the removable glass. One of the small columns has a rotary head movable between open and closed positions, the head when in the open position permitting the glass to be moved downwardly into the groove, whereupon rotation of the head into the closed position results in the edge of the glass being confined within the groove.

  • Patent number: 4704669
Abstract: A ring surrounding the clip which secures the body of an LED diode lamp to a bracket is provided with inner longitudinal grooves which reduce the thickness of the wall of the ring and confer thereto an elasticity which is sufficient for permitting its engagement on clips of different diameters. The manufacture of diode lamps does not provide the bodies of these lamps with very precise or consistent diameters, so that relatively important variations of these diameters can occur, which have an influence on the diameter of the clip when engaged on the lamp. Owing to the present arrangement, diode lamp holders can absorb such variations of diameter of the lamps, and still be secured to a panel or other structure by the ring of the invention.
