  • Patent number: 9436933
Abstract: A system and method for tracking and communicating time and attendance data for workers at a remote worksite is disclosed. A portable time and attendance device is configured to receive and store worker time attendance data and transmit the data to a remote computer via a wireless network, such as a wireless cellular communications network. In order to conserve battery power, a main unit of the device periodically queries an electronic time and attendance clock of the device according to a pre-established schedule to determine if new worker time and attendance data has been received. If so, according to the pre-established schedule, the new worker time and attendance data is transmitted to the remote computer via the wireless network. Otherwise, certain functions and components of the device remain in a low battery usage sleep mode.

Abstract: A system and method for distributing remote location information to callers who place calls to the remote locations may include storing information at a central computing system. The information may be associated with locations in multiple different time zones and include telephone number identifiers and local times associated with the different respective telephone number identifiers. The information may be distributed to communications network nodes in different time zones. Telephone calls may be processed from callers local to the communications network nodes. In response to receiving a call request at a communications network node from a local caller, a determination by the communications network node using a portion of a called telephone number may be made to determine current time local to the called telephone. The current time local may be communicated to the caller prior to connecting the call with a communications device associated with the called telephone number.

Abstract: Methods and systems for scheduling applications on a multi-core processor are disclosed, which may be based on association of processor cores, application execution environments, and authorizations that permits efficient and practical means to utilize the simultaneous execution capabilities provided by multi-core processors. The algorithm may support definition and scheduling of variable associations between cores and applications (i.e., multiple associations can be defined so that the cores an application is scheduled on can vary over time as well as what other applications are also assigned to the same cores as part of an association). The algorithm may include specification and control of scheduling activities, permitting preservation of some execution capabilities of a multi-core processor for future growth, and permitting further evaluation of application requirements against the allocated execution capabilities.
