Patent number: 8902717Abstract: A clock assembly containing a specialized clockwork. The clockwork contains a hub of three concentric posts upon which are mounted the second hand, minute hand, and hour hand of the clock. The post that connects to the second hand is the widest and shortest post on the hub. Consequently, when a second hand is connected to this outer-most post, the second hand can rotate under the minute hand and the hour hand closest to the clock face. By positioning the second hand post on the exterior of the hub, a 1:1 ratio can be maintained between the rotations of the clock motor and the rotations of the second hand post. This enables the full power of the motor to be transferred to the second hand post. Accordingly, the clockwork is capable of move, large, heavy, and unbalanced second hands.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2014Date of Patent: December 2, 2014Inventor: Alex Garzon

Patent number: 8319468Abstract: The present invention aims to prevent a main drive pulse from being moved to a rank having a potential to cause a non-rotating state. A detection segment for detecting a rotating state of a stepping motor is divided into a first segment immediately after the drive with a main drive pulse, a second segment, and a third segment and, when the stepping motor is rotated by the main drive pulse, the main drive pulse is not changed when a detection signal exceeding a reference threshold voltage is detected at least in the first and second segments. Publication number: 20120026843Abstract: The present invention relates to a stepping motor with a magnet pole pattern having a predetermined pattern around the circumference of the stepping motor. In one embodiment, the pattern relates to a code having a unique single maximum autocorrelation peak over the period of the code. Example codes include Barker codes, PN codes, Kasami codes, Golomb ruler codes, and other codes. In one embodiment, the rotor and stator have a matching pole pattern. In one embodiment, the drive is arranged to align the poles in an inline configuration, alternatively, the drive may be arranged to align the poles in a diagonal configuration. In a further embodiment, one or more sets of poles are provided on the stator, each set being offset rotationally by a partial pole spacing. In one embodiment, the rotor is initially synchronized with the stator by capturing the rotor using a single unambiguous lock-in position based on the code autocorrelation.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 11, 2011Publication date: February 2, 2012Applicant: Correlated Magnetics Research LLCInventors: Larry W.
