  • Patent number: 9569900
Abstract: A timepiece is presented that is adapted for recording the times of important events throughout the day. The timepiece comprises a primary display for viewing the current time of day and a secondary display for sequentially viewing one of a plurality times logged throughout the day corresponding with the important event. Interactive buttons on the timepiece facilitate the viewing and logging of the times displayed on the secondary display. A first button is a push button mechanism that records a time within the memory of the timepiece. A second button facilitates the scrolling of times on the secondary display for viewing by an individual. The timepiece can be utilized for recording the times of meaningful events throughout the day. For instance, the present invention may be utilized for recording how often a loved one is thought of or for when medication was last taken.

Abstract: A clock assembly containing a specialized clockwork. The clockwork contains a hub of three concentric posts upon which are mounted the second hand, minute hand, and hour hand of the clock. The post that connects to the second hand is the widest and shortest post on the hub. Consequently, when a second hand is connected to this outer-most post, the second hand can rotate under the minute hand and the hour hand closest to the clock face. By positioning the second hand post on the exterior of the hub, a 1:1 ratio can be maintained between the rotations of the clock motor and the rotations of the second hand post. This enables the full power of the motor to be transferred to the second hand post. Accordingly, the clockwork is capable of move, large, heavy, and unbalanced second hands.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a stepping motor with a magnet pole pattern having a predetermined pattern around the circumference of the stepping motor. In one embodiment, the pattern relates to a code having a unique single maximum autocorrelation peak over the period of the code. Example codes include Barker codes, PN codes, Kasami codes, Golomb ruler codes, and other codes. In one embodiment, the rotor and stator have a matching pole pattern. In one embodiment, the drive is arranged to align the poles in an inline configuration, alternatively, the drive may be arranged to align the poles in a diagonal configuration. In a further embodiment, one or more sets of poles are provided on the stator, each set being offset rotationally by a partial pole spacing. In one embodiment, the rotor is initially synchronized with the stator by capturing the rotor using a single unambiguous lock-in position based on the code autocorrelation.

Abstract: A watch for providing a digital time display comprises a movement mechanism disposed in a case that includes a number of continuous belts. The belts each have a numerical indicia consistent with hours, minutes and optionally second. The belts mounted over opposed drums, and the drums are rotated through gear engagement motors to move the belts. The arrangement of belts and drums are mounted on a frame separate from the case. The motors are operated to move the belts to cause the numerical indicia of the combined belts to register with one or more windows visible through a transparent cover to provide a time display. The belts may be oriented to overlap one another. The watch includes a microcontroller for controlling the operation of the motors, an optical sensor to determining the position of the belts, and a wirelessly rechargeable battery pack for powering the motors.

Abstract: Mechanical digital display including at least one digit consisting of at least seven segments (1) for the display of alphanumeric characters. Each segment (1) is a body in the form of a bar (1) which can pivot about its longitudinal shaft (3), the said bars (1) having at least two areas resembling a first and a second strip (1?, 1?). These have different appearances, and are arranged along the length of the bar (1) in such a way that the orientation of the bar (1) by rotation about its longitudinal shaft (3) enables either the first or the second strip (1?, 1?) to be made visible. The display of an alphanumeric character is achieved as a result of the dissimilarity of the appearance between the first and second strip (1?, 1?) of the set of bars (1). The pivoting of one or more bars (1) to replace the first strip (1?) with the second strip (1?) or vice versa generates the display of different alphanumeric characters.

The timer, with a custom course specific face decal, illustrates the time allocated to each hole on the golf course to help golfers maintain a steady pace of play to complete the course in the time allotted by the golf course management. The golfer(s) are responsible for maintaining the same pace on the course as the pace of the timer's moving clock hand across the easy to read face decal. The timer solves the problem of slow play and decreased course revenue due to slow play. The timer solves the expensive customization manufacturing problem since it may be mass produced, and after manufacturing the customized course decal may be created and applied.
