Operative Location Positioning Of Transducer Assembly Patents (Class 369/13.2)
  • Patent number: 8498182
Abstract: The presented embodiments generally relate to designing an antenna of an optical transducer (e.g., a near-field transducer or near-field optical source) that focuses the optical energy of a radiation source (e.g., a laser) onto a magnetic media, thereby heating the media. Specifically, the antenna is designed to wrap-around an aperture of the optical transducer such that at least a portion of the antenna is between a main pole of a write head and a surface of the aperture that faces the main pole. Moreover, the antenna may wrap-around the aperture such that it directly contacts the main pole.

Abstract: This invention provides an information processing method and apparatus, which can set all extent sizes of data divisionally recorded on a disk to be equal to or larger than the minimum recording unit, and can guarantee continuous reproduction of the divisionally recorded data. Of data divisionally recorded on a recording medium (5), data which corresponds to an end portion of that data and cannot be recorded as a recording area equal to or larger than a minimum recording unit specified in the recording medium (5) due to the presence of a recording area (6) of another data, that has already been recorded on the recording medium (5), is re-recorded on a recording area equal to or larger than the minimum recording unit. At this time, new data is generated by combining data less than the minimum recording unit, and data recorded in another recording area, and the new data is re-recorded on a new recording area.

Abstract: The invention relates to a suspension arm comprising a suspension arm designed as a two-arm lever, said suspension arm mounted to a support such that it can be pivoted between the lever arms about an axis extending perpendicularly to said suspension arm. One of the lever arms supports on its end side an optical head having a focal lens and comprises an elastic region for initiating a motion of the optical head in focusing direction perpendicularly to the pivot plane of the suspension arm. The other lever arm is provided with a coil of a magnetic drive for initiating a swivel motion about the axis. In addition, the suspension arm actuator comprises a magnetic drive for initiating the motion of the optical head in the focusing direction. Abstract: A magneto-optical disk apparatus generates magnetic field onto a magneto-optical recording medium prior to recording signals in the magneto-optical recording medium having a recording layer and a reproduction layer, by use of magnetic field and laser beam. The magneto-optical apparatus then adjusts a position of a magnetic head that generates the magnetic field, under a state where the laser beam is irradiated, by utilizing that an irradiation spot of the laser beam deviates due to eccentricity of the magneto-optical recording medium. This position adjustment is carried out based on, for example, a beam position signal showing the irradiation spot of the laser beam and/or a detection signal which is detected after the laser beam is modulated by the magnetic field.
