Abstract: Longer pilot sequences can be supported by transmitting pilot values of a given pilot sequence over different orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) symbols of an uplink frame. The pilot values may be contiguous, or non-contiguous, with one another in the time domain. Consecutive pilot values in a pilot sequence may be transmitted in different OFDM symbols of the frame. For example, odd pilot values (e.g., P1, P3, P5 . . . ) in a pilot sequence may be transmitted over a different OFDM symbol than even pilot values (e.g., P2, P4, P6 . . . ) in the pilot sequence. Alternatively, a leading subset of pilot values in a pilot sequence is transmitted over a different OFDM symbol than a trailing subset of pilot values in the pilot sequence.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses are described that enable customized transmission of a system information message. One or more transmission characteristics of the system information message are tailored for a particular user equipment (UE) device or a group of UE devices. In one aspect, a response frequency used to transmit the system information message is customized based on a requested frequency of the UE device. In another aspect, a beamform pattern used to transmit the system information message is customized based on an angle to the UE device. In general, these customizations increase an amplitude of the system information message at the UE device, which increases an effective range of the system information message and enables a larger quantity of UE devices to establish communication with a base station. The customization also enables the base station to efficiently transmit the system information message to one or more UE devices.

  • Patent number: 10701685
Abstract: Cyclic prefix based OFDM (CP-OFDM) signals can be filtered using a digital filter whose filter length exceeds the length of a cyclic prefix in CP-OFDM symbols of the signal. In one example, the duration of the filtered CP-OFDM symbol may be expressed by the following equation: M=N+L?1, where M is the duration of the filtered CP-OFDM signal, N is a duration of the CP-OFDM signal, and L is the filter length of the digital filter. Digitally filtering the CP-OFDM signal may include convolving a filtering signal with the CP-OFDM signal. The digital filter may include a finite impulse response (FIR) filter or an infinite impulse response (IIR) filter. In some embodiments, a different digital filter may be applied to each sub-band of the CP-OFDM signal.

Abstract: Systems and methods for frequency spectrum interference coordination in communication systems with dynamically-assigned spectrum. Embodiments provided herein include a spectrum management entity proxy between a cellular network's base stations and the spectrum management entity. The spectrum management entity proxy determines and implements an interference coordination scheme between the base stations of the cellular network. To determine and implement the interference coordination scheme, the spectrum management entity proxy modifies the messages exchanged between one or more base stations and a spectrum management entity before forwarding the messages. In some embodiments, the spectrum management entity proxy generates request messages to the spectrum management entity on behalf of the base stations (and vice versa).

  • Patent number: 10680781
Abstract: The present disclosure provides example acknowledgement information sending and receiving methods, as well as example sending and receiving devices, so that the receiving device synchronously feeds back a receiving status of unicast data and a receiving status of multicast data to the sending device. One example method includes receiving unicast data and multicast data sent by a sending device in a same subframe. A feedback resource is determined according to a data receiving status and a resource mapping relationship, where the data receiving status includes a receiving status of the unicast data and a receiving status of the multicast data, and where the resource mapping relationship indicates a mapping relationship between the data receiving status and the feedback resource. Acknowledgement information is then sent to the sending device by using the determined feedback resource to notify the sending device of the receiving status of the unicast data and the receiving status of the multicast data.
