  • Patent number: 10506603
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may apply transmission power commands and transmit uplink control information based on a received two-stage grant. For example, a UE may receive a grant including a transmit power command that may be applied to a transmission time interval (TTI) during which the UE transmits. The UE may also apply the transmit power command to a TTI that is a number of TTIs after the grant is received. In some cases, the UE may receive a trigger as part of a two-stage grant, and the application of the transmit power command may be based on the trigger. In another example, the UE may identify uplink control information based on a time delay between a number of TTIs. In some cases, a UE may identify control channel elements based on a DCI type.

  • Patent number: 10505704
Abstract: Disclosed embodiments provide an interface circuit for the transfer of data from a synchronous circuit to an asynchronous circuit. Data from the synchronous circuit is received into a memory in the interface circuit. The data in the memory is then sent to the asynchronous circuit based on an instruction in a circular buffer that is part of the interface circuit. Processing elements within the interface circuit execute instructions contained within the circular buffer. The circular buffer rotates to provide new instructions to the processing elements. Flow control paces the data from the synchronous circuit to the asynchronous circuit.

  • Patent number: 10405226
Abstract: An invention relates to methods for transmitting a buffer status report (BSR) in a mobile communication system, more particularly to the definition of rules for triggering, generating and transmitting BSRs. The invention also relates to a data transmission method utilizing new rules to decide data of which radio bearers is transmitted within a given transmission time interval. Moreover, the invention relates to scheduling method for radio resources that is taking into account additional scheduling-relevant information from the buffer status reporting and/or data transmission method. To avoid unnecessary grants from the network and to suggest an advanced handling of data transmissions the invention suggests a buffer status reporting and data transmission schemes that take into account the scheduling mode of data of radio bearers pending for transmission to decide whether to report on it in a buffer status report, respectively, whether to multiplex the data to a transport block for transmission.

  • Patent number: 9179407
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that may reduce unnecessary resource consumption and network traffic in a communications network, such as an LTE network. Initiating a tracking area update (TAU) procedure may be avoided in instances where a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle length chosen by a user equipment (UE) would be ignored in accordance with standards governing paging in the communications networks. To determine whether or not a TAU should be initiated, three parameters may be considered. A first parameter may be the DRX cycle length that is already configured in a mobility management entity (MME). A second parameter may be a DRX cycle length chosen by the UE that the UE wishes to indicate to the MME. A third parameter may be a DRX cycle length that is broadcast by an evolved Node B serving a cell in which the UE is operating.

  • Patent number: 8170484
Abstract: Synchronized UWB piconets for SOP (Simultaneously Operating Piconet) performance. A common backbone (either wired or wireless) is employed that provides a common CLK (clock signal) to all of the various PNCs (piconet coordinators) of various piconets that may operate within a sufficiently close region such that interference could undesirably occur. By providing a very reliable CLK signal from a common backbone to all of the PNCs of the various piconets operating within a substantially close proximity to one another, very precise synchronization may be ensured for all of the communications performed therein. The various piconets may then even operate using TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access)—whose performance would be substantially compromised without effective synchronization. In addition, combined TFC (time frequency code) and TDMA may also be employed to support the communications therein thereby providing even another degree of orthogonality that provided by TDMA alone.

  • Patent number: 7633895
Abstract: Orthogonal CDMA (OCDMA) in the return link of a satellite based communications system provides improved bandwidth efficiencies; increased ability to overcome channel degrading phenomenon; reduced transmission power; or various combinations thereof. By achieving code synchronization needed for advantageous use of OCDMA in the return link of a satellite based communication system, a plurality of terminals, each with a unique time slot/code channel assignment, may transmit concurrently, with the same, or lower, aggregate power as would be used by a single terminal using TDMA. Use of OCDMA in the return link allows one or more terminals, each in a common beam and assigned a common time slot, to transmit at a higher transmission power to overcome channel degradation effects. The ability to allow for higher transmission power for a particular terminal can increase the effective data rate for that terminal by enabling the use of a higher order modulation technique.

Abstract: An asynchronous serial data receiving device receives serial data, containing main data of bits sandwiched between a start bit and a stop bit, which are transmitted thereto in an asynchronous manner. In the device, the serial data are temporarily stored in a shift register circuit in response to high-speed clocks whose speed is higher than transmission rate of the serial data. A counter circuit counts number of the high-speed clocks. Every time a change of level is detected in the serial data, counting operation of the counter circuit is reset so that the counter circuit re-starts counting from its initial number. The change of level is detected responsive to the serial data or noise. Existence of the start bit is acknowledged on the basis of a fact that the counter circuit continues counting for a window time, without being reset, in a duration of the start bit. Herein, the window time is less than a half of the duration of the start bit.
