Patent number: 12132725Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure relate to setting a system time of an access point (AP) for server certificate validation. A method comprises obtaining a default time as a system time of the AP after an AP boots up. The method also comprises obtaining a memory time from a flash memory of the AP. The method also comprises updating the system time with the memory time obtained from the flash memory. The method also comprises validating a server certificate received from an authentication server based on the system time. The system time is synchronized with a network time if the server certificate is successfully validated based on the system time. The synchronized system time is then written into the flash memory. In this way, the authentication can be performed based on a reasonable system time even if the AP reboots.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2022Date of Patent: October 29, 2024Assignee: Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LPInventors: Xiaoqing Chen, Kangchang Huang, Xin Zong

Patent number: 10972962Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for signaling basic service set (BSS) identifiers (BSSIDs). A group of BSSs may form a Multiple BSSID set in which one BSS sent management frames on behalf of other BSSs (referred to as non-transmitting BSSIDs). For example, a management frame (such as a Beacon Frame or Probe Response Frame) may include a list of BSSIDs for some or all of the non-transmitting BSSIDs in the Multiple BSSID set. An indicator in the management frame may indicate whether the management frame includes a partial list or complete list of non-transmitting BSSIDs in the Multiple BSSID set. The management frame may include a count or bitmap to indicate the quantity of BSSIDs in the Multiple BSSID set. A station (STA) may indicate which BSSIDs it has discovered and request the remaining BSSIDs in the Multiple BSSID set.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 2018Date of Patent: April 6, 2021Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Abhishek Pramod Patil, Jouni Kalevi Malinen, Ravi Gidvani, Alfred Asterjadhi, George Cherian

Patent number: 10959201Abstract: Methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses for wireless communications are described that support techniques for initial access in wireless systems. Generally, the described techniques provide for communicating satellite information to simplify initial access procedures. A wireless communications system may signal relevant information (e.g., Doppler information or propagation delay information) associated with communications through a satellite to mobile terminals (e.g., user equipment (UEs)). The mobile terminals may utilize the relevant information to generate an uplink transmission (e.g., a random access message or an initial access message) that compensates for the Doppler shift and propagation delay that may be experienced by communications between the mobile terminals and the satellite.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2019Date of Patent: March 23, 2021Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Xiao Feng Wang, Peter Gaal, Iyab Issam Sakhnini, Jun Ma

Patent number: 10904041Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for channel estimation in a wireless device. According to the method, the wireless device obtains (1010) an indication that a set of antenna ports, or antenna port types, share at least one channel property. The wireless device then estimates (1020) one or more of the shared channel properties based at least on a first reference signal received from a first antenna port included in the set, or having a type corresponding to one of the types in the set. Furthermore, the wireless device performs (1030) channel estimation based on a second reference signal received from a second antenna port included in the set, or having a type corresponding to one of the types in the set, wherein the channel estimation is performed using at least the estimated channel properties.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2018Date of Patent: January 26, 2021Assignee: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Stefano Sorrentino, George Jongren

Patent number: 10778392Abstract: A method for communication over a wireless interface between transceivers that are moving with respect to each other. The method includes transmitting, by a communication station (STA) in a moving vehicle over a wireless channel to a receiver outside the vehicle, a sequence of data symbols encoded in accordance with a frequency-domain multiplexing scheme extending over a range of sub-carrier tones. A condition affecting the wireless channel is evaluated. Responsively to the evaluated condition, a pilot scheme is selected from among a plurality of available pilot schemes, for interleaving of pilot signals in specified sub-carrier tones of the data symbols. An indication of the selected pilot scheme is exchanged between the STA and the receiver. The pilot signals are interleaved in the transmitted data symbols in accordance with the selected pilot scheme.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2019Date of Patent: September 15, 2020Assignee: Marvell Asia Pte, Ltd.Inventors: Rui Cao, Hongyuan Zhang, Xiayu Zheng, Hui-Ling Lou

Patent number: 10708086Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to channel sounding. In some embodiments a transmitter transmits a periodic CAZAC sequence beginning at a point in time that corresponds to a timing signal (e.g., a pulse-per-second signal). In some embodiments, a receiver waits to begin processing received sequences for a time interval corresponding to the length of the CAZAC sequence, where the time interval begins at the same time as the timing signal. This may avoid a need for timing synchronization prior to processing, reduce processing and latency in receiver implementations, and may allow determination of a TOA as well as a channel impulse response estimate by correlating a received cyclically-shifted CAZAC sequence with a local version of the transmitted CAZAC sequence.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2017Date of Patent: July 7, 2020Assignee: National Instruments CorporationInventors: Malik Muhammad Usman Gul, Ahsan Aziz, James Wesley McCoy
