  • Patent number: 11616774
Abstract: Described are methods and systems to identify unauthorized attempts to access an account in a computer system, the account having an authorized user. The methods and systems include determining that a count of failed attempts to access the account exceeds a maximum. Based on the count exceeding the maximum, one or more peer contacts associated with the authorized user are retrieved from stored user data. A failure attribution request is transmitted to the one or more peer contacts and a response is received from at least one of the one or more peer contacts. If the response denies that the authorized user caused the failed attempts, then a security action is taken with respect to the account. The method may include first confirming that the number of failure attributions requests sent has not exceeded an abuse threshold to prevent denial-of-service attacks.

Abstract: Techniques for determining a global state for multiple related calls are disclosed. A first call between a first device and a second device is established, where the first call is assigned a user call identifier. A second call between the first device and a third device is established. A shared call operation is established by assigning the user call identifier to the second call. The user call identifier is assigned to the second call in addition to already being assigned to the first call. A first status of the first call and a second status of the second call are determined. The first status and the second status are used to determine a global state of the shared call operation. The global state of the shared call operation is updated in response to one or both of the first status or the second status changing.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may monitor a narrowband (e.g., a single carrier, anchor carrier, etc.) for a control message that includes a grant for downlink data transmissions. The narrowband containing the control message may be a portion of a system bandwidth. The UE may then monitor a wideband (e.g., all or multiple carriers of the system bandwidth) for data according to the control message. Monitoring the wideband may include additional or alternate circuitry being powered (e.g., receiver circuit switching) to enable reception on an increased range of frequency spectrum. In some examples, a gap or narrowband data transmission may be scheduled between the control message and the grant to allow grant processing and receiver circuitry switching at the UE. In some cases, the control message and data transmission may be received in the same or different transmission time intervals (TTIs).

Abstract: A method for improving performance of a streaming media session between a plurality of communicating entities. Observation reports are collected from a plurality of monitoring entities. Each observation report includes information pertaining to events observed and recorded at a corresponding monitoring entity. A size of at least one window to be used for analyzing the observation reports is determined. The observation reports are analyzed using the at least one window of the determined size, to determine a correlation between the events across the observation reports. A problem encountered during the streaming media session is identified, based upon the correlation between the events. A notification is sent to at least one of the monitoring entities, based upon the problem. The notification is sent during the streaming media session.

Abstract: A fraud detection system may obtain a number of known fraudulent end-user profiles and/or otherwise undesirable end-user profiles. Using statistical analysis techniques that include clustering the end-user profiles by attributes and attribute values and/or combinations of attributes and attribute values, the fraud detection system identifies on a continuous, periodic, or aperiodic basis those attribute values and/or attribute value combinations that appear in fraudulent or otherwise undesirable end-user profiles. Using this data, the fraud detection system generates one or more queries to identify those end-user profiles having attribute values or combinations of attribute values that likely indicate a fraudulent or otherwise undesirable end-user profile.

Abstract: A method may include receiving, from a first client, a first message. The first message may be matched to a second user based on a similarity between a first keyword included in the first message and a second keyword included in a profile of a second user. The first keyword may be determined to be similar to the second keyword based on a distance between a first vector representation of the first keyword and a second vector representation of the second keyword not exceeding a threshold value. In response to the first message being matched with the second user, the first message may be sent to a second client associated with the second user. In response to receiving, from the second client, a second message responsive to the first message, the second message may be sent to the first client. The resource manager server obtains telemetry data indicative of a present utilization of the allocated set of network communication resources and determines whether the present utilization satisfies a predefined utilization threshold. Additionally, the resource manager server adjusts, through the expansion bus switch and in response to a determination that the present utilization does not satisfy the predefined utilization threshold, an amount of network communication resources in the set to the compute device.

Abstract: Example aspects include techniques for implementing a transparent TCP proxy for containerized applications. These techniques may include receiving an outgoing packet from the containerized application via a container bridge and determining, based on a connection associated with the outgoing packet, whether the outgoing packet corresponds to an incoming packet identified by a first marking as being redirected through the TCP proxy. In addition, the techniques may include in response to determining that the outgoing packet corresponds to the incoming packet, adding a second marking to the outgoing packet to indicate that the outgoing packet is to be routed through the TCP proxy, sending the outgoing packet to the TCP proxy based on the second marking, and transmitting an outgoing processed packet to an external device having the destination address, the outgoing processed packet resulting from a performance of a proxy operation by the TCP proxy on the outgoing packet.
