  • Patent number: 10841326
Abstract: An authentication packet including a user identifier is received. The user identifier identifies a user of a second computing device being monitored by the first computing device. Authentication data is parsed from the authentication packet. A peer group identifier is determined that identifies a peer group to which the user is assigned. Members of the peer group are identified based on an expected network activity behavior. The authentication data and the peer group identifier are buffered into a first event block object and into a second event block object. The first event block object is sent to a first source window of an event stream processing engine (ESPE) that processes a netflow packet. The second event block object is sent to a second source window of the ESPE that processes the authentication packet. The first source window and the second source window are different source windows of the ESPE.

  • Patent number: 10833934
Abstract: A network management method is described for managing energy utilisation in a network comprising network elements that handle network traffic. The network elements are analysed to identify at least one candidate network element for energy usage reduction. Routes passing through the candidate network element are then identified and at least one alternative route is identified for each identified route. Each identified route is switched onto the at least one alternative route, wherein the alternative route does not pass through the original candidate network element. Finally, the candidate network element is triggered to enter a lower power mode. In a particular embodiment, a quality of service level associated with each identified route is determined and the method ensures that the alternative route has an associated quality of service level equal to or better than the original quality of service level. Systems and apparatus for implementing the method are also described.

A single application or user interface, executing on the UE, may also be used to facilitate messaging with the proxy, and access to each of the different network-connected devices on the LAN.

Abstract: Systems and methods of disconnecting a network service provided over a network service path include using a computing device that obtains a service identifier assigned to network service and identifies a port of a network device included in a network service path associated with the service. The computing device transmits a request to the network device for port configuration data of the network device and based on the received port configuration data, determines whether the port is assigned to the network service. If so, the computing devices executes a remediation operation which includes transmitting a reconfiguration command to the network device that is adapted to cause the network device to update the port configuration data to free the port.

Abstract: Technologies are provided for managing routing updates within computer networks using brick identifier (ID) values. For example, brick ID values can be assigned to bricks of routers within a network. When a router of the network receives a routing update, the router can check the brick ID value of the routing update and compare it to its assigned brick ID value. If the brick ID values match, then the router can process the routing update using a preferred procedure. If the brick ID values do not match, then the router can process the routing update using a standard procedure. The preferred procedure can result in faster convergence of routing changes within the network.

Abstract: A radio station (2) transmits configuration information (501) to a radio terminal (1). The configuration information (501) indicates, on a cell-by-cell basis, at least one specific cell on which the radio terminal (1) is allowed to perform at least one of data transmission and data reception on a radio bearer used for uplink transmission or downlink transmission or both via a common Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) layer (402). As a result, in a radio architecture that provides tight interworking of two different Radio Access Technologies (RATs), it is for example possible to allow an eNB to indicate, to a radio terminal (UE), a specific cell on which the UE should perform uplink transmission.

Abstract: One embodiment discloses a method and apparatus for synchronizing IP information of virtual machines. The method includes: obtaining an IP relevant message of at least one virtual machine within a subnet, recording IP information and connection information of the at least one virtual machine based on the IP relevant message, and modifying connection information of a specific virtual machine in response to migration of the specific virtual machine. The apparatus corresponds to the method. With the method and apparatus above, IP information and connection information of respective virtual machines within the subnet are recorded regularly and routinely. Once a certain virtual machine is migrated, updating and modifying connection information of the migrated virtual machine is only needed, but without a need for resending a request to the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server. Thus, network disruptions caused by non-synchronization of IP information when the virtual machine is migrated are avoided.

The method is applied to a terminal, the terminal includes a baseband processor, an application processor, and a communications interface. The baseband processor reports information about a first packet to the application processor, where the first packet is a to-be-sent packet discarded by the baseband processor. The application processor transmits a second packet to the baseband processor according to the information about the first packet, where the second packet is the same as the first packet. The baseband processor sends the second packet to a network device by using the communications interface.

A message comprising a prediction of a future number of concurrent user sessions to be hosted by a virtual machine within a predefined future interval of time is received. It is then determined whether the future number of concurrent user sessions will cause the virtual machine to cross a predefined resource threshold during the predefined future interval of time. Abstract: An LRU buffer configuration for performing parallel IO operations is disclosed. In one example, the LRU buffer configuration is a doubly linked list of segments. Each segment is also a doubly linked list of buffers. The LRU buffer configuration includes a head portion and a tail portion, each including several slots (pointers to segments) respectively accessible in parallel by a number of CPUs in a multicore platform. Thus, for example, a free buffer may be obtained for a calling application on a given CPU by selecting a head slot corresponding to the given CPU, identifying the segment pointed to by the selected head slot, locking that segment, and removing the buffer from the list of buffers in that segment. Buffers may similarly be returned according to slots and corresponding segments and buffers at the tail portion.
