By Automatic Testing Sequence Patents (Class 379/10.01)
  • Patent number: 7505566
Abstract: A method for analyzing automatic line insulation testing (ALIT) data comprising receiving an electronic version of ALIT test results and parsing the ALIT test results to extract error data. The error data is inserted into an ALIT database. A number of exceptions per wire center occurring on a selected summary date is calculated in response to receiving a summary request from a user, and the summary date is transmitted to the user in response to the calculating. User records located in the ALIT database that include a selected wire center and a selected detail date are transmitted to the user in response to receiving from the user a wire center detail request. The ALIT database is updated with repair package information in response to receiving an add repair package request.

  • Patent number: 7298827
Abstract: An invention is provided for testing a quality of communication data received from a SUT. The invention includes storing reference test data comprising a plurality of data segments, and receiving degraded test data also comprising a plurality of data segments, from the SUT. The data segments are located in the degraded test data, and data segments in the degraded test data are matched to related data segments in the reference test data. Further, the data segments in the degraded test data are compared to corresponding data segments in the reference test data using a fixed point operation. In one aspect, the degraded test data can be normalized prior to locating the data segments, for example, utilizing a fixed point Fourier transform. Also, a receive filter can be applied to the normalized test data utilizing a fixed point operation.

  • Patent number: 7103795
Abstract: A method for automatically testing elements in a telecommunications network. An automated testing protocol is initiated based on the notification of a network event. When test results are received from the automated testing protocol, a trouble ticket is automatically opened containing the test results. The trouble ticket is then routed to the appropriate party. In embodiments of the invention, test results are logged, a database is queried to determine if the event has occurred previously, the trouble ticket is prioritized based on the severity of the event, and a time stamp is placed on the trouble ticket. The automated testing protocol and the event correlation database can be accessed through a graphical user interface. Multiple automated testing modules can be integrated into a single graphical user interface. Users can log in to prevent interference among users.

Abstract: An invention is provided for testing telecommunications devices. Broadly speaking, test data is encoded prior to testing a SUT. Then, during testing, the encoded test data is transmitted to the SUT, which processes the test data. The processed test data then is received back from the SUT. The processed test data is decoded in real-time, as opposed to the encoding of the test data, which is performed offline and prior to testing. In addition, a quality of the processed test data is analyzed. Typically, the test data is speech data, which is stored prior to testing the SUT. Optionally, the speech data can be encoded offline using a computer system separate from the testing system.

Abstract: A communications system is tested to simulate a realistic conversation. A first measurement device make a call, through the system it is testing, to a second measurement device and the two devices converse using predetermined speech generated dynamically by each device in response to the signals received from the other, to simulate aspects of conversation over non-perfect communications system link. The progress of the conversation will therefore take different courses according to the quality of the link. For example, if an expected signal is detected by one device, it transmits an appropriate predetermined response to the other device. However, if the expected signal is corrupted, or not received at all, different predetermined responses (or no response at all) are transmitted to the other device. This in turn may cause the other device to repeat the original signal.
