  • Patent number: 10979158
Abstract: User equipment (UE) can include a spectrum analyzer to monitor characteristics of transmission channels. The user equipment can monitor a 600 MHz spectrum and associated channels, for example, to determine if the spectrum is free of interference or is currently occupied. The UE can analyze a received signal strength indication (RSSI), a reference signal received power (RSRP), a reference signal received quality (RSRQ), and signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR), for example, to distinguish between types of interference if a channel is occupied. User equipment (UE) can aggregate data and report such data to a network device further aggregate the data and to generate reports. Network components can be deployed or optimized based at least in part on network metrics provided by individual UEs or aggregated data provided by a plurality of UEs. In some instances, the UE can be a mobile phone of a customer to gather metrics in a distributed manner.

  • Patent number: 10803166
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for automated determination of application privileges. An application testing service executes an application in a testing computing environment that replicates a production computing environment. The application is given a set of permissions in the testing computing environment. A set of use cases for the application is performed while the application is executing in the testing computing environment. A set of operations invoked by the application to perform the set of use cases is determined. A subset of the set of permissions is generated that corresponds to a minimal set of permissions necessary to invoke the set of operations.

  • Patent number: 10592829
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems to automatically integrate work requests from multiple Spoke systems at a centralized Hub system. In one embodiment, a Hub system receives a portion of a work request from a problem tracking system executing in the region (e.g., geographic area or network subnet) of an associated Spoke system. The request comprises enough information for the Hub system to prioritize this work request against other work requests already received from this same Spoke system, other Spoke systems in the same region, or even other Spoke systems from other regions. A Hub user can then be presented with an integrated work queue of requests to service after they have been properly prioritized. The Hub user may be supporting multiple clients in an outsourcing style Information Technology (IT) support model or a call center model. Supported clients can execute on different data center platforms, at the same time.

  • Patent number: 10248520
Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure involve an apparatus and/or method for conducting an at-speed functional test on a silicon wafer of an integrated circuit. In one embodiment, the method includes utilizing a first clock signal during a first portion of the test and a second clock signal during a second portion. The clock signals are configured such that a first subset of the logic stages of the circuit are tested at-speed by the first portion and a second subset of the logic stages of the circuit are tested at-speed. Further, in one embodiment, the first subset and the second subset comprise all of the logic stages of the circuit design. Through the configuration of the clock signals, the tester may ensure that each stage of the circuit design is tested at-speed such that a more accurate at-speed test result may be obtained in a low current environment.

  • Patent number: 9558106
Abstract: The techniques described herein provide software testing of a candidate software system. In some examples, a testing service compares at least one candidate response to at least a first control response to obtain one or more candidate test differences. The testing service may compare at least a second control response of the plurality of control responses to at least one of the first control response of the plurality of control responses or a third control response of the plurality of control responses to obtain one or more control test differences. The testing service may then analyze the one or more candidate test differences based on the one or more control test differences to generate an evaluation of whether one or more of the candidate test differences are due to differences between the candidate software system and the control software system that generated the first control response.

Abstract: An Internet protocol (IP) telephony system terminates calls to certain groups of telephone numbers via multiple different telephony carriers. The IP telephony system will discontinue using a telephony carrier to terminate calls if the quality provided by the carrier falls below a threshold level. The IP telephony system includes a quality monitoring unit that determines when a particular group of telephone numbers are intrinsically impaired, such that no carrier could provide high quality when terminating calls to those numbers. In these circumstances, the IP telephony system adjusts the quality threshold to which a carrier's quality is compared when completing calls to the impaired numbers to account for the intrinsic impairment of the telephone numbers.

  • Patent number: 7627444
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media provide for facility integrity testing. According to embodiments, a method for populating a watch list with circuits of a communications network to be monitored for repeat failures is provided. According to the method, a trouble ticket associated with one of the circuits and a trouble code and analysis code (TC/AC) combination associated with the trouble ticket is retrieved. Whether the trouble ticket meets a watch list criterion is determined. In response to determining that the trouble ticket meets the watch list criterion, the trouble ticket and the TC/AC combination are added to the watch list.

  • Patent number: 7617303
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for avoiding demand forecast errors in a network topology model having a plurality of nodes, by monitoring and controlling the quantity of a selected port type at a node. The method comprises determining the actual quantity of a selected port type at a node, setting a forecast of the quantity of the port required, setting a forecast period for the ports, wherein the forecast period is a function of the time required to change the quantity of the ports, and setting a threshold value to generate alerts, wherein the threshold value is a function of the forecast period; monitoring the node for a forecast change, if a forecast change is found then computing the difference between the actual quantity and the forecast quantity, wherein if the difference is greater than the threshold value, then generating an alert and forwarding the alert to a user.

  • Patent number: 7542428
Abstract: Methods and systems provide a geographical network alarm viewer (GNAV) application that receives, tracks, aggregates, reports, and maps data associated with cable telephony services outages occurring in a cable services network. The GNAV application integrates network map data and identification information associated with customer locations, equipment, and associated network alarm data from a network operations center. All customer location addresses associated with individual network alarms are located and mapped on a geographical network map. Because the alarms are received, tracked, aggregated, reported, and mapped in real-time, service personnel may respond to network outages in a more efficient manner, and service technicians and service vehicles may be directed to repair service outages based on more accurate location and service outage timing data.
