  • Patent number: 6792079
Abstract: A system for transmitting operational control messages to a plurality of remotely-disposed cable-locating transmitters uses a spare communication line associated with each transmitter to carry the control messages from unit to unit. In the case of a fiber optic cable, the control message is transferred from an incoming telephone line associated with a first cable-locating transmitter to a spare optical fiber. The control message then propagates down the fiber to the next transmitter (where this transmitter does not otherwise have accessibility to a telephone line). This transmitter converts the optical signal to an electrical signal and either uses the control message (if indeed destined for that particular transmitter), or re-converts it to optical form and sends it further along the spare fiber to the next remote cable-locating transmitter further down the line.

  • Patent number: 6711243
Abstract: Routing a call to a voice mail system using subscriber information maintained in a database associated with a service control point. Once a call is received by the service node and the service node determines that a voice mail call should be originated, the service node sends a message including a voice mail indicator and a subscriber identifier to the service switching point. The service switching point uses the subscriber identifier to query the service control point for routing information. The service control point determines the voice mail access number associated with the subscriber using a database associated with the service control point. The service control point responds to the service switching point by providing the voice mail access number associated with the subscriber and setting the original called party number and the last redirecting party number to the directory number of the subscriber.

Abstract: A switch includes a repetitive call detection unit which detects a repetitive call which occupies channels in an identical channel group. A release unit releases the channels occupied by the repetitive call when the repetitive call is detected. A restriction unit stores information concerning the repetitive call and imposes a restriction on a connection of a call having information identical to the information concerning the repetitive call. A test unit determines whether a cause of the repetitive call has been removed. A restriction release unit releases the above restriction in accordance with a result of determination by the test unit.

  • Patent number: 6351521
Abstract: The invention is a test system that gives the user a single point of control to generate calls and run tests on a switching system for use in a communications network. The test system is capable of generating calls through a tandem switching system without using a local access switch. The test system is operationally coupled to the switching system by a signaling link and a call connection. The test system receives a first user request to generate a call. The test system transfers signaling to the switching system over the signaling link to cause the switching system to extend the call connection. The test system receives a second user request to run a test, and applies the test to the call connection. In some embodiments, the test system includes a web server that interfaces with a web browser operated by the user. The web server transfers information for screen displays to the web browser. The web server collects user requests from the web browser to generate calls and run tests.

Abstract: This invention relates to bulk testing of voice messaging applications by playing back an interaction from a recorded script. During development of a voice response system and application it is necessary to simulate a plurality of calls to the system so that the performance under strain can be monitored. Such a simulation can be performed by a bulk call generator which makes real telephone calls to the IVR through a private branch switch. However with bulk call testing some problems occur which rigorous functional and/or performance testing does not find. This is because real callers behave in unpredictable ways which were not expected or assumed by the creators of the functional and/or performance tests.

Abstract: A priority auto-control method of signal routes in a No. 7 signaling network is disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, it can improve usefulness and efficiency of the No. 7 signaling network by newly defining a MHT message and a MHA message in accordance with a MTP signal message standard form. It then performs a test of the all available signal routes from an originating point to a terminating point by using the MHT and MHA message. It thus automatically optimizes the priority of the signal routes in accordance with a state change of the signaling network, without requiring operator intervention.

Abstract: A visualizing method for the working condition of the semiconductor's manufacturing machines is disclosed. Firstly, the datas of different stages in a processing line are collected from the key-stage report of the processing line. The datas are “MAIN”, “MRUN”, “AFTER” and “PRE”, meaning the working condition of the stage. Every stage has a group of data. Specified stage-pairs in the processing line are determined. These pairs are photolithography and etching, photolithography and implanting and others. The data of each stage-pair is sequentially put in a bar chart. Then the pairs are sequentially arranged in the order of the processing line. One pair has a supplied stage and a requested stage. From the bar chart, supervisors of the processing line know the condition and the priority of every pair, and the relationship between the supplied stage and requested stage.
