Abstract: A remote telephone call notification system for notifying a user at a remote location that a communication device is receiving a call. The remote telephone call notification system includes a base unit and a remote unit, with the base unit being adapted for interfacing with the communication device and the remote unit being adapted for being toted by a user. The base unit includes a transmitter for wirelessly transmitting to the remote unit, and detection circuitry for detecting reception by the communication device of an incoming ring signal. The detection circuitry causes the transmitter to transmit an activation signal upon the detection of the incoming ring signal. The remote unit comprises a receiver for receiving wireless transmissions of the activation signal from the transmitter of the base unit. The remote unit includes an audible sound device for generating an audible sound upon reception of the activation signal.
Abstract: The invention provides a method and apparatus for the prevention of fraudulent toll calls by a user connected to a key telephone system. On recognition of a user request for use of a telephone line to make a call to a destination outside the key system, the forward speech path to the seized telephone line is muted. The string of digits dialed by the user are monitored and evaluated for correspondence to restrictions associated with the user terminal. If restrictions are failed, the call is terminated; otherwise, the forward speech path is unmuted and the call is allowed to proceed in the conventional manner. The invention may also provide an interdigital timer which is set upon reception of each dialed digit whereby if the timer is allowed to reset while the dialed digit string is being monitored, the call is terminated.

Abstract: A multiple bank memory device is described which can be tested by accessing the multiple memory banks simultaneously. The memory includes a test mode trigger which initiates a test which writes and reads from memory cells located in different memory banks. Error detection circuitry evaluates data read from different memory banks and determines if a defect is present in the memory cells. Different test patterns and techniques are described for identifying defective memories.
Abstract: A call saving system for an ISDN telephone switching system includes a subscriber switching unit and terminal units connected to the subscriber switching unit via subscriber lines. A control device controls an overall call saving process executed between the subscriber switching unit and each terminal unit when a restart process is started after a call process is temporarily stopped. When a restart process is started, a restart message is transmitted to each terminal units on the basis of the presence/absence of a call to be saved. Each terminal unit includes a call state setting circuit for a state display message when information indicating a confirmation of a call saving is set in the restart message.
